This video shows the steps I use to replace bad triacs in LOR controllers. This video assumes you understand how to solder electrical connections on circuit boards. Attempt at your own risk, but fixing these issues yourself can save lots of time compared to shipping controllers back to Light-O-Rama for repair. Post #19 in the link at the LOR forum says Gen 3 actually uses 24 amp triacs. The original links provided by LOR to Mouser say 16 amp and others have posted they purchased the 20 amp. 16 amp has worked for me so far. Channels can only handle 8 amps anyway. I guess the purpose is to try to prevent them from frying when a short occurs in the lights. LOR recommends the 24 amp posted above.
