Hi. I just received a consolidated project from someone in LA (I'm in NY). There were no database files in the media folder. No matter what I do, Avid just does not want to create database files, thus I cannot connect any of the media. Any suggestions? The files are in the Avid folder structure, all spelled/capitalized accordingly (I've been an AE for several years so I'm familiar with the nature of Avid media. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Are you working on stand alone drive? Check the name: Your drive / Avid MediaFiles / MXF / 1 (whack files in there) let me know if that works, as when you open avid it will scan those files and create new database files.

The tape column shouldn’t be displaying the Mob name… that’s the media file database. Have you reset the databases? Have a look at this video… it may help kzitem.info/news/bejne/pYOX3ZeqbJqpjW0

Hi, I have seen your video, my answer is/ Usually, when I copy mxf files into avid mxf folder (1 or 2....), MC opened in background, when I refresh on screen MC, start a re-scanning (is an update of database files). Today my MC not run properly, not rescan volume and database files. How can I do? Thanks a lot

Hi, I’m not totally sure of your question… but the database files (well one of them) will allow you to import whatever media is in the folder (MXF/1 or 2 or any number) into Avid… you need to drag that file in to a bin, if you don’t have the master bin. Now if your Avid is being odd. I’d delete all the data base files in every numbered folder, then go back to Avid and it will scan automatically
