This is great advice if you are dealing with reasonable people. There are some people...you just need to slowly back away from and never make human contact with again. lol

People who act like this toward others are looking for some sort of reaction from their targets, like a reflection from a mirror. If you don't respond to what they say, or at least throw them off by giving an unexpected reaction, they will eventually leave you alone and look for more willing victims.

I was once friends with this woman. She just enjoyed saying things like "i'd cut your hair off", or "you look older than your age", etc. especially when we were together and someone complimented me and not her. I did not know how to react to those sudden explosions of negativity.

I was verbally attacked by a family member, she dressed it up as advise and that she cared for me. I beat myself up for months because I felt I did not stood up or defended myself. I even told her I liked that she said what was in her mind. (what is wrong with me?) I read somewhere that some people process slow to conversations that are uncomfortable to them. When it comes to family members it seems that I don't know what to say back when im being disrespected, is like I disconnect myself from the conversation, then I think about it word for word and is too late to say something and I start to hate myself for not saying one darn thing to defend myself.

j lo yes that's because you felt so embarrassed you couldn't focus on giving a good response and they know this about you. When we're Caught off guard it's hard to think.. Next time just tel her to shut up and stop being so rude in front of many people. I guarantee other Members will be glad you told her her this. I'd often get my revenge on these people when they're alone and no Audience to inflate Them.. If anybody loves to pull you up on stuff with a room full of people, then usually they don't operate alone very well. Next time Just say I'll get back to about this in private... Nows not the time BIG MOUTH. And write down all your answers to the hurtful remarks I guarantee they won't make a habit of doing this again. Knowing full well you'll get them alone and nag them to death about being an Oxygen thief 👌 Good Luck sweet girl.. Greeting from London

Hi Miss Dubuque, I want to say Thank you very much. I learnt that anolgoy of life is like tennis. If you play tennis you could understand that, there so many people would try to pull you down by insulting the cool people. Additionally no matter what theres people that are always going to put you down. So now it is your choice wether to be nice or just as nasty as them. So back of the anolgoy of tennis, when your oppenent hit the ball hard, you gotta hit the ball soft with a follow though and eventually it will mess up your oppenents big attack. So in conclusion, it is your choice to choose to be rude and to hit the ball agressively or kill them with kindness with a soft follow through. :)

Hi Marie, I do agree with you that some people don't deserve that we spent our time to answer them, but sometimes it can be understood as we are cowards, and we shouldn't always leave people disrespect us.So sometimes we should face the impolite people and force them to show respect .

Inconsiderate people want a reaction that why it's best to ignore them. Or smirk or roll your eyes. Or say excuse me lets keep it polite and mature. It's best to keep it polite and respectable and mind our own business . To avoid inconsiderate people. People are inconsiderate because they are not thinking about people's feelings. And they are less respectful and sympathetic and more self focused. And act like it's all about them. It's best not to take them seriously that's what they want. Think whatever who cares it's their behaviour and it's their problem not mine. We will be less stressed if we care less.

So today we were doing a singing audition for a show, in front of the WHOLE class. And after I went my friend went, and this really rude boy said to me “you lost.” In the middle of her audition. My feelings were so hurt that I went outside into the bathroom and I balled my eyes out. I didn’t want him to see that It got to me but it really hurt my feelings. When my friend came and talk to me and said that my audition was great and then I did a great job. And the joke was on him because I’m doing a trio with two other girls.(The one that was auditioning after me was in the trio). Later he apologized to me, and then I felt really awkward. But all my friends told me that I did really well and that my audition was great and I was very happy that I’m now in the trio.

i did this today and I felt so empowered. My friend said 'capricious much' when i told him that I forgot I had something else going on and I had to cancel on him. I was feeling pretty insecure at the time. I wanted to explain my actions and apologize until he told me he didn't mean what he said.I wanted to tell him "I'm not capricious! what do you mean capricious!" I wanted to tell him that I didn't want to deal with his insults because I was feeling insecure but then I realized that probably would just escalate the situation more. Once I actually realized that it was an insult and not actually about me and about how he felt, things started to change. I looked up the definition of capricious and realized that in his eyes it was partially true so I just agreed with him and said "yeah, i'm probably capricious." best move ever. and i don't feel insecure anymore :D

But I feel like the reason I get angry is because this is unacceptable behaviour. I feel like I'd have the same reaction if the person was insulting someone else. I'd think, that person is not very nice and shouldn't be insulting that other person. They shouldn't let their own insecurities bleed out and bring others down, to make themselves feel better. It's like stealing; like a lazy person stealing from a hard working person. And so I'd be quite stony faced around that person in future; I'd be short with them. I definitely wouldn't want to show that person any signs of fondness or efforts that I care in any way. I'd just be cold and professional with them in future. Maybe that's not the best way to deal with someone you're angry with, but it's the best method that works for me, for now.

In other words: You are too stupid to thing straight. She was doing so because I promised her to do sth for her but totally forgot about it. Although it was pretty important. I told her I was sorry. Then she was yelling at me telling me I would just say that to save my own Ass and I should Stop talking and that she did not want to be responsable for solving my mustakes. She also insisted that she is going to tell our boss.

Hi Marie, if a longtime girlfriend is cheating, then the boyfriend asks her with a gun to insist her to admit she is cheating. But the girlfriend, instead of admitting, challenges the boyfriend to pull the trigger. If the boyfriend don't get the respect he felt entitled to, should he pull the trigger? (in this real case, the boy killed the girl, and I thought I might do the same if I were him, but I don't want to go to jail).

There is this guy in my tuition that I like and I told him that I like him. However, he wasn't interested and he spread all this this to his friends and then they threw a chit at me in which there was sarcastically written 'like you too to infinity asshole'. And my friends also saw that chit and I felt so hurt and insulted. I don't know what to do now. I still have the chit. I am scared that they will try to bully me the next day. Also, I am feeling embarrassed to meet my own friends. I just feel like hiding. I can't tell any elders because they will only scold me for it instead of helping out. Please help :(

maddy, hold your head high and move on. Because if you act normal, they will too. People have short memories. If they do bully you, you have to talk to an adult.
