If your security camera is faded with a foggy lens, you don't have to buy a new one! You can restore the camera to near-mint condition with ~$70 worth of tools and less than an hour of time. This is a great way to give your security cameras a second life.
Here are some the tools and ingredients you'll need to polish your camera's lens:
• Cerium Oxide Fine Grade (2.5 microns particle size)
• Distilled water (at least 50ml)
• Dremel Drill (we used Dremel 3000, but you can use 4000 series for finer speed control)
• 1" wool pad with velcro backing
• Velcro tape 1" squares
• A small wooden dowel; used to combine the dremel with the velcro square
• Kitchen scale for measuring
Works best with turret or bullet style cameras. May not work with dome cameras.
