@antoniorodriguez5916 good idea I was gonna say also soak a shop towel in oil and shove it in the cylinder (after making sure your on tdc compression so you don't bend exhaust valve) have a pick ready to pull it out. Minimize the shaves 2x although I feel greasing tap would plug up the tap. Which is risk of snapping it off in the bore

He didn’t explain the kit. He’s not making threads for the plug. He makes threads for an insert which the plug then fits in. Why in the world he didn’t put the insert in and then the plug after I have no clue. I don’t understand these kits because if you’re going to rethread it just make the threads for the plug, but I guess it helps if you cant get new threads perfect because as he did you can put licotite on the insert to hold in place since your new threads aren’t done correctly.

@@justingreaves6769 Whenever you ever rethread with a tap like that you need to make sure about every three turns you then reverse it out the same three turns. That’s way you’re chasing the threads you just made to solidly the pattern and release the build up of metal shavings so the tap is clear to make the threads uniform. Also, don’t use a flex head socket wrench. You want to be as consistently up and down in the same spot so you’re not veering off side to side from your original path.

@semperfimechanic my crayon eating brother..... how long did it take you to do it. And your method of joining the trade diving head first. The story of you burning a car down.... reminds me of me. Except I did a timing chain on a 2.2 cobalt and my retarded as hand tightened the crank pully.... forgot to impact it.... probably my 2 or 3 timing chain ever. Yup.... bought a new engine... really curious how your doing mobile. I stopped couple years ago.... people..... can't read your adds. 30+ brake line calls daily. And brother.... trust me if u haven't learned yet. When anyone says it's easy a easy job. You 100% don't go. 99% of the time these people will tell you how to do it. Also probably not pay u. Make some excuse. Sue I've had happen. They clearly lost. 2 final questions. 1. How long did you spend there. 2 how much metal you assume got into that cylinder... (trust me this will prematurely kill that engine. Years past your work... I never dared touch one of these being I'd pull the head. And no one can or wants to pay the price to do right.
