No but why is this literally me. I’m currently taking lessons and have a test booked for January. However I don’t feel confident parking or approaching roundabout because sometimes I just don’t know when it’s clear to go. Other times it can be a tight gap that I need to go through or stop to let a car go by and then go but I keep driving. I feel that I should stop but I don’t physically do nothing about it and my driving instructor gets mad at me. What should I do about this because it feels like I just freeze and don’t know what to do in the situation which is obviously dangerous?
@picklestheswift

@@shopkinsisland6560talk to your instructor about this, they are there to help you pass your test. If you are learning with family members try and get as much practice done as possible. If you don't feel comfortable, you can try and move your test back, it's better to wait a little while and pass the test than fail. As for approaching roundabouts, as you come to the roundabout, slow down nice and early and approach at about 10-15 mph, this should give you enough time to scan the roundabout and see if it's clear or not. I hope this helps and you pass your test

Never in my life will I want to do a driving test in the UK, the amount of mirror and blind spot checks at certain times is absurd, I can't think of a single situation where this would've made a difference, it's not like you are blind until starting to park, you can assess the situation beforehand

UK driving tests are super easy though, I passed first time after 24, 1/hr driving lessons. Checking my blindspots never helped learning to drive and passing my test but it's stopped me from being hit by reckless drivers in certain situations plenty of times. UK driving tests have their main focus on spotting dangers around you and perceiving hazards before they happen. Not that your dangerous but that you should always perceive others as dangerous. Still though there's plenty of terrible drivers on UK roads. Until we have driving licenses have 20year renewals, bad drivers are here to stay

I am literally learning how to park from these videos. In my country the standard of driving is incredibly low E.G we spend 22 hours in lessons in preparation for the test and then take a 3 part test with no theory that takes around 10 minutes. You drive out the practice compound, up the road and do a u turn and then back into the compound and do a extremely unusual reverse park which you can’t do in any other scenario or parking space. So I’m short they leave us extremely un prepared for everything. That’s fine for driving in my country where we have cheap valet parking and big parking spaces where you can park nose in however the catch is we can get a international license simply by requesting one. I had to watch so many videos on signage, braking distance, courtesy and essentially all the stuff that should be common knowledge and I’m still struggling to drive abroad. On of my biggest challenges in parking. I still can’t reverse into any space but in getting better hopefully might be able to do it soon
