I was diagnosed with prediabetes months ago and it really broke my heart unexpectedly and i was going through alot but Thankfully i have emotional support from my family, friends,Neighbors and my church and i didn't let it take me down without a fight so i started to exercise more frequently and i begin to eat more protein and vegetables. Fish,Tuna,Turkey and Bake Chicken you name it all healthier choices of food to help improve my energy and my ability to get my body back on track and into shape and it made a complete difference in my life and now i can sleep peacefully without any breathing problems and wake up fully Charged and full of intensity. And i can stay up all hours long throughout the night if i wanted to but then my rest is more important. And i dont have to use the bathroom alot, drink alot, eat alot anymore. And i hope and pray by Next Year in January when i see my doctor again to take my A1C test hopefully i get some miraculous Great News because i put alot of hard work and dedication to pull this off and yall please keep your praying hands together and fingers crossed once i step foot in the doctor's office. Great Video and Thanks So Much about helping us to Understand Prediabetes.

My fasting glucose was 113. My doc didn't even tell me. She was just concerned about my cholesterol and my kidney function that plummeted after Covid. When I asked her why she didn't talk to me about my high fasting glucose, she said they consider a fasting glucose up to 122 as normal. Um....am I wrong in thinking that's insane? She said my A1C was normal. I simply told her that I would prefer my numbers stay a bit farther away from that 122 mark. She agreed. I lost 63 pounds in the last year. My cholesterol and glucose went down last appointment and my kidney function jumped from a very temporary EGFR of 59 to and EGFR of 84. But my LDL went up again this last appointment as my triglycerides and HDL balanced out. My resting heart rate is down 16 beats per minute, my blood pressure has been normal the whole time, and I went from obese to well into the normal BMI range. The only thing my doc notices though is still that cholesterol because my LDL went up 22 points (from the drop into the normal range) this last 6 months! She wanted to put me on cholesterol meds a year ago! But now she wants me to talk to a nutritionist. I don't need a nutritionist. This also year should prove that. I am certain that had I listened to her last year, I likely would have diabetes now if I was on a statin and I would be speaking to a nephrologist because the diabetes likely would have done more damage to my kidneys. As it is now, I'm on no meds and my fasting glucose runs between 85 and 97 most days. I'm still working on lowering it further. I mostly go to a doc now simply for the blood work.

This low fat plant based diet isn't for everyone and keto isn't for everyone too. My view is moderation is key for all and genetics has a role to play. Find what works for your numbers and genetic profile.

I can’t wrap my brain around how people completely ignore their body symptoms and walk around being I’ll. I knew even before my doctor that I had “pre” diabetes. She called me after my physical to tell me I had “pre diabetes” I told her I knew that and already put myself on a diabetic diet, upped my fitness level to walking 3-5 miles a day and switched to a diabetic protein products for my smoothies. She asked “how did you know you had diabetes?” I said I GOOGLED my symptoms 😮 and I’ve already had “ pre-diabetes” twice before with m. 2nd pregnancy and when I entered menopause. Please talk to your Doctor and get tested if you have any changes to your body or brain. Diabetes affects your brain!!!! The brain is the biggest user of glucose which is the “sugar/carbohydrate” that our bodies use which is where the “brain fog” from diabetes comes in! Buy yourself a glucose test kit, they are affordable and test everything you eat till you know what and which foods are jacking up ⬆️ your blood sugar! You are worth the effort to be healthy and as vibrant as you can be! FYI pro tip taking a short 15 min walk after eating will immediately lower your glucose level! Your muscles use the sugar in your bloodstream and will lower your glucose level immediately! Bonus is it’s good for your digestion and you’ll stay in better physical condition😊

I've been wearing a continuous glucose monitor for 2 months and can tell you whenever I eat starchy carbs or those "healthy" grains, my blood sugar spikes, and it takes about 2 hours for the levels to come down. And those are smaller portions. Apples, bananas, pears, strawberries, even raspberries raise it a lot too, speaking of eating a lot of fruit. Protein raises blood sugar very little, and fat doesn't seem to affect it at all. So I don't understand how this info they're providing is accurate.

I found out i had prediabetes because i have been getting lab work for HIV disease every 4 months for the past 32 years. Whenever my lab work is done they also check cholesterol, triglycerides, A1C and other things besides my usual viral load and T-cell counts. My doctor told me 6 months ago i had prediabetes and my A1C was 6.1. I Reversed my prediabetes to 5.6 in 4 months by cutting down a lot on sugar and white bread and pasta but not eliminating them. I also lost 20 pounds by just cutting down and no longer need cholesterol and bp meds and antacids. For one example whenever I order a burger I throw away the bottom half of the bun and drink diet soda instead of sugary drinks. I also do weightlifting and cardio.

You have to eat high carb low fat less than 30 grams of fat a day for at least a month. It can take several weeks for all the excess fat to leave your muscle cells. Until all that fat is removed, your blood sugar levels will still be high after eating high carb meals.

I have seen this too but I had a kidney injury that dropped my kidney function to an egfr of 59. I needed to lower my fasting glucose of 113 and lose weight. When your kidneys are struggling, high protein is not a good idea (from my understanding). High carbs wasn't a good idea because of blood sugar either. So I had to do a plant based and balance carbs and protein really while watching sugar and sodium. My kidney function jumped to an EGFR of 84, my average fasting glucose is between 85 and 96 now (trying to lower it still) and I lost 63 pounds. So one diet or another won't work for everyone. I have seen people have great success on keto but keto can be straight up dangerous for other people. You've got to know your body and eat for your blood work.

This is shockingly bad advice. Too much fat is absolutely NOT the problem with diabetes. Fat evokes almost no insulin response whatsoever and is in no way the cause of insulin resistance. It's excess sugar intake that causes insulin resistance. Insulin is the hormone that transports blood sugar, called glucose, to our cells to be used for energy. But when the cells have all the glucose they need and insulin keeps bringing them more and more, our cells lock up and won't accept any more glucose. They "resist" the efforts of insulin to feed them more glucose than they can handle. So insulin is then forced to store that excess glucose as fat in the liver or in the fat cells all over our bodies. And some of that excess glucose remains in our blood. That's when fasting glucose and HBA1c numbers go up and you're on your way to prediabetes and Type 2 diabetes. To reverse prediabetes stop eating all foods that turn into glucose in your blood. That includes soda pop, fruit juice, candy, pasta, rice, potatoes, bread. Whole grain carbohydrates, like brown rice, are only marginally better than refined carbohydrates, like white rice. Don't eat any of that! Keep carbohydrates to a minimum by eating non-starchy vegetables like leafy greens, broccoli, red and green peppers, tomatoes, cabbage, cauliflower, zucchini. Do as I suggest and you will begin to feel better in a very short time. If you follow what these two clowns are suggesting you have very little chance of reversing your diabetes. Check out Dennis Pollock's KZitem channel "Beat Diabetes" or Dr. Ken Berry's KZitem channel for more on the correct way to reverse diabetes.

If you have severe insulin resistance or struggle with fluctuating blood glucose, we recommend earning your ability to eat fruits high on the glycemic index by eating a diet containing as much low glycemic plant material as possible for a few weeks first. Once you have gained a significant amount of insulin sensitivity, then begin increasing your intake of higher glycemic fruits and your blood glucose is unlikely to spike in the post-meal state. www.masteringdiabetes.org/fruit-for-diabetes/
