Mahalo for the videos, I learn something new every time. Gonna start servicing my own reels as well! I know some guys stiffen the trailing hook, I was just tying a small piece of wax string to allow it to break loose on the strike. I understand why you want it flopping loose back there to swing and stuck on a strike. You ever had issues with the trail hook flipping over or out of place?
@RAHfishing
5 жыл бұрын
I haven't had issues of flopping over. I think the water resistance keeps its pretty good. Just got to make sure you put it in the water nice and not just trow it.

Typically you want to run about 7.5-8 knots. But if its glass I will go a little faster like 8.5-9 knots just to make the lures work a little more. 🤙

Good Job Bro!! I love your content. you have a new subscriber in me. Could you give out some pointers on how you target different species. A lot of it comes down to fishing location. Running the 40-60 fathom ledge you are mostly gong to come across Kawakawa, small shibi, and ono for sure. Fishing more on the Haleiwa side and Kaneohe side you will see a mixture of all fish but a lot more Mahi vs other areas due to the fact of the amount of rubbish coming in on those sides of the island. Waianae is know to have a really good ahi run and nice water thats why a lot of people tend to fish that side of the island. 5-7" lures you can catch everything and anything, like they say elephants eat peanuts. 9-12' lures you can still catch a mixture of fish if they are hungry but you are starting to really target the fish at the top of the food chain, from ahi to marlin.
