Fig is a type of fruit that can be propagated in several ways, today in this video I showed you a simple way to grow a fig seedling from a cutting in water. Fig twigs for this method of reproduction are taken during the rest period of the vegetation, before the buds on the twigs begin their development. After collecting the twigs, we store them in the refrigerator until the moment when the appropriate conditions for scarring the cuttings in this way are created, which are conditions where the temperature is above 20°C and there is no frost overnight. When it's time to scarify, we take the fig twigs out of the fridge, we make cuttings from them with one or two buds on the cutting, and we put the prepared cuttings in a glass or jar with water. We should put this container where the fig cuttings are in the water somewhere in the semi-shade and after about a month we will be able to notice the first roots in the water coming out of the white dots on the cutting. It is important to change the water every few days to prevent rotting of the cuttings. when the cuttings are scarred, we take them out and carefully so as not to break the tender root, we plant them in seedling bags or pots. After transplanting scarified fig cuttings, we do not keep those pots in direct sunlight because it would kill them, but in semi-shade until the seedling is accepted, and then it can be in direct sunlight.
