Today I'm going to show you how to install Island from the google play store, set up duplicate apps and run multiple accounts for games. While this can be done on most android devices, I'm using the Samsung Galaxy Fold4 and Pokemon Go as an example app.
First we're Going to go to the play store and search for Island. It'll be this one from Oasis Feng. Install it and when it's done installing open it up. Read over and accept the Welcome Prompt. It will then create a work profile that will run next to your main profile. this is where we can download clones of apps to run with a different account. Once the work profile is set up, you'll be brought to the island app. You can clone your current apps directly through here, but we'll be signing back into google play and installing our apps that way. so press your home button now, and swipe up to bring up your app tray. You should see your cloned work icons. There will be some default ones. You can swap between cloned work apps and normal personal apps with the Personal and Work sections at the bottom of the tray.
Next Click back into Work apps, and click on the cloned google play store app. Sign in with any google account. This can be your main one you used to sign into your phone. Once signed in, you'll see the google play store. For this guide we're going to be installing a second pokemon go account. We'll search for Pokemon Go and install it. Installs from the cloned store should be instant if you already have the app installed on your device through the normal play store. Once installed, sign into your second account, and you now have access to that account just by opening the cloned version of pokemon go. Once everything populates for the first time and the game is running, press your home button again to return to your homescreen
Now we're going to launch our main account and make an App Pair so we can run them side by side. Once the game is loaded up, press your multitask button, hold the icon above our cloned version of pokemon go, designated with the brief case icon in the bottom right corner, and drag it to the left or right side of the screen. Once you place it, you'll be able to play both accounts simultaneously. You have to only touch one side at a time, but can swap between them quickly.
To save the app pair so we can easily access it again, press the three dots in the middle of the screen between the two windows. This allows us to swap the windows, reorder them, or save them as an app pair. if we press the star you can save it to the taskbar, homescreen, or edge panel. I'm going to choose homescreen. going back to our homescreen you can see where it placed itself. To show that it will launch both apps at once you can go back into multitask view, close all apps, and launch your newly created pair. they'll both launch at the same time.
You can also change orientation of the apps by turning your phone and getting a shorter but wider orientation on both apps. Thanks for watching our video on how to run multiple instances of an app on one phone. For more Galaxy Fold specific Gaming content, make sure you subscribe to Foldable Gaming so you'll know when we upload again.
