We're Wing-T, which I know you love. Thinking about running Y-Stick out of traditional sets and pairing it with full-flow play action (Power, Down) and having the WB run an arrow. The safety(ies) usually stay back at first to prevent the big play and the LBs have to play the run. The Y-stick could be a perfect way to attack the area between in an efficient manner. Like you said, "Nice, easy pitch-and-catch".

Puy the y at te and run the banana out to hold the sam lb so rb can get to flat. It will also hold strong side safety so the z can potentially have 1 on 1 . works great against zone if lbs dont get proper depth

Coach, my concern is running stick vs cover 2. When Backer drops to defend hook/curl, the stick will be covered. To my way of thinking, QB should NEVER automatically check down to the low route or he'll get the RB blown up by the corner who is waiting in the flat. I think it would be better for QB to read the corner as a high/low concept. If corner is in the flat, QB should hit the MOR. Also, in cover 2, corners are taught to initially give a cushion until a player comes into the flat, if QB doesn't read this well, we might as well start the concussion test now...the RB will get destroyed.......what are your thoughts.

Hey Mckie, do you like Slide Wall for the goaline...I do. I get that route from..."Coaching Run and Shoot Football". Triple In with a shoot arrow by the super-back...killer route concept down in TD country.

Coach, Sorry if this was addressed... how do you run this concept to the left? F stick or do you flip the formation? What keeps it simple?
@CoachMcKie

Hey coach, we call it F stick. That tells the F he is running the stick.

Coach McKie Thanks coach. And along those same lines, how do you run mesh to the left out of ace?

King Rt Over (Y as snifer Set to Twins, TB Offset to Y Side) F runs Stick, Z runs fade, X Runs Slant, TB will push motion away from stick and Run a swing, Y runs Shoot.

Coach Clarke, That's a great play. We have used that as an RPO tag before. If the end crashes then my quarterback looks to throw the Stick to Shoot.

Coach McKie I know you an air raid guy, I'm more of a smashmouth spread guy like what auburn runs, but love the air raid. Do u use those spread I formations much. Or do u stick to split backs.
@CoachMcKie
7 жыл бұрын
Coach Clarke, I use more split back formations. I will get into a formation with a Tight End/H-back, but for the most part I am a 4 wide receiver kind of guy.

Coach, Out of ace you would half slide away from the stick route. What about 3x1? Would you half slide away from the “oh shit” swing route?

That is correct coach.

I run my stick routes with my receivers turning outside instead of in. The reason why I do this is because I run a modified pistol wing-t. I have a tight end any nasty split and 3 point stance & slot to the opposite side. If teams are stacking the box to stop by inside zone, it's a much easier catch turn and run If my receivers are turning out.

Coach, In 3x1, what do you think about F and Y both running hitches on concept side (instead of F running a shoot)? Wouldn’t this make the #2 declare faster, making it a quicker/easier read?

That's what some Run and Shoot teams do. But they use speed outs.

Coach, is the y stick completely dead vs man lock defense? do u have a automatic call post snap for that? like the hooks turn to dig/drags
@CoachMcKie
7 жыл бұрын
Coach Brown, Our quarterback will take the Vertical shot if we get man. What I am going to do this year is put in a Man beater to the backside of the concept. This way the play will be good against any coverage the defense gives us. The concept I'm thinking about using is a Slant/Arrow. What are your thoughts?
@Hustlegtp
7 жыл бұрын
Coach McKie probably would work too......I was thinking more you backside hitches would still run their routes. after there hitches the would just drag or bring it routes across the QB vision.
@Hustlegtp
7 жыл бұрын
love the concept just don't wanna get locked in certain stuff vs man post snap. I probably would check out or just handoff
@CoachMcKie
7 жыл бұрын
Coach Brown, You could do that. What I've been toying with is tagging Stick with our Inside Zone. That way you get the best of both worlds. On the frontside you have the hitches. Take 'em if the defense gives 'em to you. Backside you have the Stick. Have the quarterback read the end. End sits then you hand the ball off. End Crashes then you pull and look to throw Stick to Vert.
