There is a solar eclipse coming soon!!! How can we safely watch it? Did you know that all you need in order to safely view the sun is a piece of paper? Or that you can project an image of the sun using a cheap telescope? In this video we look at some different methods for SAFELY viewing a solar eclipse, or looking for sunspots. We discuss the difference between using a pinhole and lenses for viewing the sun, and see how easy it is to safely view a large image of the sun.

Disclaimer: It is never safe to look directly at the sun. Whenever attempting to view the sun exercise extreme caution, and be careful to protect your eyes. Do not point expensive telescopes directly at the sun! Solar projection works best with cheap refractor telescopes.
