Hey guys, i just wanted to write about my experiences with the oil treatment for my hair if anybody wants to know how it worked for others. But first i have to say, that i just used coconut oil, argan oil and black castor oil and not the same ones as in the video, because i live in germany and it would have been too expensive. So, i used the oils approximately one time per week (i usually wash my hair twice a week) and after two times i recognized differences. First of all i have really thick and full blonde hair, but the hair near to my face became really "krausig" (theres no word for that in english, but it was like really curly and dry, but only one thin streak on both sides) in the last years, and the rest of my hair is straight. So after the oil treatment my hair got really really soft and it looks much more "smoother" than before and it definitely looks better. I love my hair in the moment so i just can advise you to try it. By the way i did it for like 4-5 weeks now. Hope i didn´t make many mistakes in english and you understand it :) And thank you Ayesha for the video if you read this

I’ve been using olive oil mixed with my perfume since I was a little girl when my Dad said, “Hey girl, get over here, you need some oil in your hair.” I’m allergic to coconut oil, but I do like castor oil occasionally for growth. I find that my lifetime habit of drinking bone soup has kept my hair and nails very thick and strong. I just save the bones from everything that I eat and make broth from them, and I drink it at dinner time. Also, it helps me sleep.

It's normal once your hair gets used to it. I wash my hair once a week, its getting bit oily just around the temples and neck area on day 5-6. There were phases, where I came to wash it after 10-12 days, maybe it was the sun or dry air outside, I dont know, but they got oily just around that day. Everyone who asked didn't even notice I was on day 6 or 7.

Your hair is beyond beautiful! I think one thing that's also important to mention is how important it is to massage the scalp to increase blood flow- it also transfers some of the natural oils from our fingers onto our scalps. (I started doing that when my scalp became dry from hormonal changes). You're doing an amazing job at massaging your scalp- I just wanted to further emphasize how you're doing e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g. right (and people should do it exactly as you are in this video down to your massaging technique). Sure, it’s a variety of contributing factors coming together (genetics, work and care, time and patience) but no one can deny how beautiful your curls look. I am so happy I have come across your videos!! I recently gave up on my curls. I don’t add heat to them, ever, but seems they just haven’t been holding moisture well. LOVE your videos. I'd like to see how you refresh your hair each day to retain your hydration. Your 4th day hair was still so juicy and beautiful! I struggle with retaining the moisture and the wave pattern over several days. I can go 7,8 days between washes, but usually wash 2xs a week for more moisture and curl reactivation. I too love oils, use the curly girl method and if I want straight hair for a change, I set set it with jumbo Velcro rollers. Takes 10 hours to airdry, but I get a week of silky, smooth big wavy hair with no damage. It's also WAY softer than if you use an iron. I'm Jennifer and thanks again for your videos. LOVE them all! Can't wait for more!

Derrick Watkins if u don't mind me asking, what are jumbo Velcro rollers, I've never heard of them before... thank you
@derrickjenniferwatkins1394
6 жыл бұрын
Velcro rollers are usually used on dry hair after a blow dry to infuse more volume into the hair. I buy the largest size I can find as I have long hair and am going for a smooth wavy look. If you want a curlier look go for smaller ones. They are easy to find in the hair section of most drug or beauty stores. They are self holding on dry hair, but as I use them in wet/ damp hair for 8-10 hours, I need to use pins or clips to hold them in place. Velcro rollers are hollow, so they allow great airflow for drying if you choose to speed up the process with a hooded dryer or blow dryer. I find air drying with this method gi ves the softest, silkiest smoothest hair because instead of ironing the moisture out, it seals it in. Hope this helps!

YES! I recently started CGM. My hairstylist strongly suggested I do a coconut oil treatment on my hair twice a month. She said as time goes by my curls should look more and more beautiful! Also, i'm going to try the castor oil and the red pimento hair growth oil. My hairline started receding from my hair being pulled back in a tight bun for dance performances. I hope the oils work! Thanks!

YASSSSSS! THANK YOU FOR SPEAKING THE TRUTH. 6 months ago i realized that i was frying my curly hair and my hair could not take any more torture. I started watching your videos and Curly Pennys. Im 56 and ive always hated my hair. Your videos made sense. My grandmothers also told me about oils also and i also did not listen. I finally started doing better steps on taking care of my hair. Ive trimmed about 2 inches off my hair. And its actually GROWING.

Hi Kyle! Did it start when you started with the curly girl method? Or did it become visible because the remaining hair formed a curl and therefore looks less full on the scalp? I want to transition into wearing my curls but I would love to know your experience.

This is great! I bought most of the oils and it’s soooo worth it! I do this routine around once a week, like the whole thing, though I add olive oil to the coconut oil. For the rest of the days I just use a bit of oil in my ends as needed. My hair has always been really curly, but 2 years ago I decided that I wanted short hair and cut I all of above my shoulders, I don’t know what happened but my curls kinda disappeared, and hasn’t been the same since... but after I started doing this it has started to curl again! Bonus tip: if you want longer eyelashes Castor oil is awesome for that!

This actually works. I am so glad you posted about stopping Diva Curl, not because I use their products, but because it made me curious to watch your old videos. I stumbled upon this and I know I would never have otherwise! I have suffered from a scalp condition; certain products cause flare ups which result in drastic hair thinning, balding, itching, "pimples", and flakes. I wish that I could submit a picture here so you could see all the new growth! When I went into the salon to get my hair dyed, the lady actually asked if I had had bangs when she was washing my hair!!!!! That's how much has grown out from my scalp down to my eyes. I told her, "no, you can actually see those hairs all around my head - it's new hair growth!" My scalp condition flared up 4 months post partum with the same products I've always used due to stress/breastfeeding. I was so distraught, I couldn't believe it. Every shower, I would have fistfuls of hair, I had "pimples" on my scalp, clumps of white flakes (not dandruff flecks), and it was constantly itching. It hadn't been that bad for 4 years. I found the curly girl method and switched my entire product line to Shea and Maiu Moisture brands. For the first time, I set one day out of the week to completely wash my hair: detoxify it, shampoo and condition it, and then put a mask on. I also began using a doctor prescribed steroid for the scalp. That fixed all of my symptoms. I was left with 3 large bald patches, my hairline had receded, and my hair was so thin I had to cut nearly 5 inches off. I purchased the "Strong Roots red pimento hair growth oil" and the "Black Castor Oil" by Tropic Isle Living. I use a small drop of each every 3 days, usually before a wash day, rubbing them into my scalp. I still have micro flare ups on the back of my scalp, where the flare up is the worst, but after putting the oil on, it is soothed. I will wash my hair the next day, and for the rest of the week there is no hair loss, itching, flaking, pimples, etc.

The problem with oil is people over shampoo after it. The trick with using oil is only wash your roots never the ends (once a month I wash everything) I wash my hair every 4-7 days depending on if it needs it. In winter not as much as summer. And the night before you wash oil your scalp good and let it work overnight with something like caster oil.

Best tip i saw somewhere here on youtube. In the morning before washing out your hair saturate your hair with CONDITIONER let it sit for 5-10mins and then rinse out and proceed to wash and condition your hair as normal. This is a lifesaver. I would always put off doing oil treatments bc the hassle of washing it out. This breaks the oil down and allows it to be rinsed right off. :)

And if you gals are not yet, I highly recommend taking Zink daily.

The problem with SO much oil is that most people need to use sulfate laden shampoo to get it all out- sometimes shampooing multiple times too. This can damage the hair and cause a lot of shedding.

I think essential oils need to be used with “carrier” oils. Shouldn’t be used in 100% pure form.
@HateNeverCeasesHate
3 жыл бұрын
It depends how you use them. Essential oils are typically very strong, but they can vary in intensity. The so called carrier oils are there to just dilute. So, if you need a tiny amount of essential oil, but you won't be able to spread it out properly, then you want to use the carrier oil.

It was my problem as well. Use any oil you want or any commercial deep conditioner you want. But the secret is to add Humectants in it 😀. Yes I've seen the difference. I put honey in my oils and in my deep conditioner before shampooing (i wash my hair twice a week). I have a lot less frizz and much more definition. 0% frizz is impossible. You'll get little bit of frizz here and there but that's okay! We need volume too 😆 If you're vegan try agave nectar or maple syrup. Hope it helps 🙂

For women, loss of hair at the hair line or at the parting can be caused by tension on the hair, especially if you tie or pin it back in a way that pulls at the roots. Cure: let your hair be loose and change where you part it.
