The 120 results look great. Big time commitment though and $479 just for the 120 carrier :s
@EricFloberg

Agreed. There the best looking results we've seen after using a few other much cheaper carriers. The way I see it, if it's going to cost me $20 per roll every time I send it off to the lab, it really doesn't take too long to recoup that money back. Looking at a year of film, and you've already made it back. And you can start a little side hustle by developing and scanning for friends! :)
@Ben-vg1lw

@@EricFloberg i think it makes sense in 120 especially for those rolls you really care about. Tbh I think in 135 the improvement in results is less significant and with the 36 shots on a roll it’s not really that practical. Maybe a pakon scanner or similar is a better idea at that price point. Great in depth review though. Keep it up!

Great video! This might be a dumb question- do a lot of photographers these days edit their film? I always see such beautiful film photos and wonder if the final image is most often being achieved with the film stock or if it’s through additional editing.
@BryanBirks
3 жыл бұрын
Everyone edits but you will definitely have certain stocks that you like more or less or that just go better with your workflow. For me and how I edit I love Portra 160 but someone else might like Fuji or another Kodak stock.

@@BryanBirks Thanks for your insight. I honestly had no idea it was common to digitally edit film photos! I used to shoot film about 7 years ago (just recently got back into it again) and always thought the point of shooting film was to not have to do any post processing after developing & scanning. This is interesting!

What will happen if a 6x9 slide is not completely shot with a camera at one time, but divided into sections, for example, into 6 parts. After that, process all 6 parts, develop, and in Lightroom or Photoshop, combine again into 1 large 6x9 photo, like combining a panorama from a series of photos. Will the quality of the final photo, resolution, color, etc. rise???
@Westwardeast
11 ай бұрын
It would technically rise but you are going to have to make sure that you shoot it with the right amount of overlab and the scans are really clean. I've done it. Got a really cool pano of the tetons

@@EricFloberg If I would do a sponsored video (exchange is just a more pleasing word for sponsoring) then I would put a disclaimer into the beginning, saying "This is sponsored content". Everybody knows then that this won't be in any way critical or helpful to the community but just over the top positiv - like an ad in television.
