Padlock your safety chains over the A Frame......most thieves just hook the chains up short and drag the van away close by and then spend time away from your home, out of view to remove the hitch locking pin.....

I’d recommend getting another Purpleline wheel clamp for your other wheel, then a Kovix alarmed hitch pin lock which fits a D035, and Witi. If they can get through all that, they should be given your van!

Rest the clamp on the ground. This produces an angle on the arm and then place the lock in with key lock at the bottom this makes it harder to line up a drill to drill the lock.

Thanks mate..congratulations on the new van...other tip that I learnt is chain up the chains so they can't use them to drag the van down the road or something.....I'm doing some cool videos on motion sensor lights and power upgrades etc....thanks for your comment...

Good clip. My vans storage in the front yard so I do check each to make sure it’s still there. A few tips # Put a cover on your van so a thief doesn’t know what sort of van it is also slow them down and draws attention to them from neighbours and passerby’s. # Cover the hitch so they don’t know the style of hitch you have. # Our van has disc brakes and has a compressor that pump air into the brakes if the air is in the brakes and the blue Anderson isnt connected the brakes are locked on. Unless they know how to drain all the air out of the system to release the brakes. # Check your van most days to make sure nobody has been snooping around it.

That's it....All about hiding things...so it looks harder to steal...I cover my hitch...but I should tie up my chains as much as possible..to stop them using them to drag it....thanks for your comment and some great tips....

What small 12v battery are you using? Also how are you charging it? I wanted to use Powerbank but that have only 2.1v output which is not enough for powering this GPS tracker.

There's a few things you could do....you really only need around 4.5ah or 7ah battery or smaller.....just a smallest lead acid or lithium would be good.......they can be as little as 60mmx100mm or smaller....you could hard wire it with a fuse off the 12volt system...to just keep it topped up.....or use like a small trickle charger to keep it toped up...or a 240v old laptop charger...a small battery wouldn't take make power to charge..especially if it's already charged...

@Muddy and Sandy I was thinking about this but not sure if this small battery can be connected with another battery like this. I will have to go and ask some sparkie what to use.

"Solid GPS" is Aussie made & owned; very small; has a built-in battery that only needs to be recharged every 6 or more months (USB) (or ii "can" be permanently attached to a 5VDC outlet.. only costs $4.99 per month ($39.99 per year upfront) for the built-in sim card access; so you can get updates on your phone app & they monitor it: website access etc.. Put it literally anywhere once you are linked to the satellites (easy).. of course you wouldn't put it in a solid metal enclosure as that would block *all* signals: But; In or on a cupboard, in your storage area... wherever. Check them out.

Thanks for sharing your ideas. But removing the jockey wheel is not the best advice. Your caravan stabilisers are just that, stabilisers. Caravan handbooks say inside them not to rest the weight of your van on them. They can potentially go straight through the floor. If you don't have a jockey wheel on your van, then you need a another way to support the front of your van. Resting it on stabiliser legs is a potential recipe for disaster. We work & travel full time on the road and also do a few other things for security. When we are moving every day or two or every few days and don't want everything out and setup, we will just wind our awning out a couple of feet at least, because it's another thing for thieves to either put away or drive off with it out and and get the attention of other road users. We also drop our attached picnic table down for the same reason. We put our toilet and shower hatches up and wind up our TV aerial. These are all very quick things to do that make our van more of a pain to steal than someone else's. We also have a gps tracker, DO35 hitch (which thieves are unlikely to have) and the same hitch lock as yourself. Putting stabiliser legs down is also another thing they have to pack up. The more you can do to inconvenience a thief means they will likely leave yours alone. But the simple things like putting up your TV aerial means they have to also access the inside of the caravan to put it down or once again drive off with it up and get other road users attention.

Thanks for your comment...yes probably right...my stabilisers are bolted to 6 inch frame...so i don't think it will come through the floor..but I'm sure people have different setups...I will be changing to a black jack jockey wheel..so that will help...thanks

@davidrose9683 nice one...best to hard-wire it into a second hidden battery...so they don't just disconnect battery cables and kill it....or doesn't it have a inbuilt battery
