That reset tip is brilliant. I’m going to miss these videos - just ordered a few more things I’ve been wanting from the WMD catalog, including a Metron, so it will come in handy.

I e had issues for ages with my subharmonicon starting sequences in different places even though the light were suggesting everything was resetting but it wasn't. This has fixed the bug finally. You're a star. Thank you

This video is brilliant. Thanks for sharing your findings with us! I've encountered the need to start high in my eurorack - like a record button sync on Morphagene, I resort to Maths, probably a neater way I don't know of. Since main rig is eurorack, can't decide between the Live 2 and the Octatrak. The one thing that I like with the MPC is the CV output (and more audio inputs). Am I going to automate tweaks on modules from the MPC? Probably not, have Maths and Pamela where all my envs and LFOs come from (and a couple different attenuators to boot). BTW, ALM also has a midi module, which is pretty cheap which people with OT's seem to like, think it's $115 now. Also wondering if I'll hit a point where I do want to automate CV or use VCV Rack, I might need to get into a DAW with an Expert Sleepers module - which would make the OT vs MPC debate moot. Ironically this DAW based scenario is what led me to consider Akai and Elektron. I hate DAWs, want a sampler, but with the ability to record entire songs. Without using either I just end up with a series of phrases on Eurorack that I love but do nothing with. Ideally I could press record, get the phrase and then tweak it, and then start another one, rinse and repeat.

I got my mpcone last year, setting up for a live rig which I’ve been slowly building this year. Seems like I made a good choice, though ignorant at the time and no one was using it for that 😁

Can you explain in more detail why the clock and reset signal is different depending on the midi note you choose? Is it because the voltage it sends is different?

Akai now just need to give us CV input, and that would be a game changer. There is only one two samplers in the Eurorack that worth having and those small screen are a super hard to look at and edit, but with touch screen in Akai and flawless integration into the DAW would make a complete standalone or hybrid system.

you ever use the drums on the mpc with the synths (etc) on eurorack? Just wondering why you are using eurorack for drums and not antoher stand alone drum machine or the mpc. I wish the akai fire worked with MPC One for setting up drum patterns live :) It's a bit of pain having to menu dive and use touch screen live.
