In this episode I do my best to show you how I go about installing a Crankshaft in this 460 Big Block Ford. This is by far not the easiest way to do it, but if you are in a pinch and don't want to pull the heads and pistons to drop them in through the top, this method has never let me down. But be forewarned, be EXTREMELY careful and don't let anything metal touch the crank or rod journals as you ease this ULTRA heavy crank into place. Also as you seat in the rods, ensure that the rod bearings are properly seated in the saddles and haven't moved in the process. I'll say it again, this is not the easy way to do it, just the easiest way I've found to get it done when you don't wish to pull the heads and pistons.
I hope that helps someone out there and it's one more step toward getting this 1977 #BigBlockFord 460 (7.5L) from that old Motorhome swapped into this 1958 Ford Fairlane for the #NoNameNationals this coming Sept 30th & Oct 1st.
