The level app on the iPhone works well for me, just rest it against the camera whilst the quad is flat and your good to go 👌🏻

good tip to use the sensor display in betaflight for this. does not help a ton when out in the field and not sure if the crash moved your camera, but still a great tip. I am a little suprised there are not metal / carbon camera housings that have markings on them to indicate the angles, but that would add weight, and there is not much room around the camera.

Yes and no - innthe field you still can use the smartphone but most of the time it's not as easy as on the computer 😁 but I always shoot photos to see if the camera moved. Anyhow most of the time I use some 3D printed TPU mounts additional to the carbon - that way the camera doesn't move at all or only in very hard crashes where you could not even fly further nevertheless 😁

You can do this exactly the same in betaflight 😉

I use 25, I feel for my muscle habit it is the right one, because I can advance and brake easily. Thanls for your video.

Yeah I learned it the hard way ... my angle was steeper than in the simulator and I was always wondering why I'm so much worse in real life 🫣😁

What degree you would recommend to make cinematic fpv video ?

Depending on your flight skills anything up to 30° I'm flying freestyle quads at 11° and really like it but the lower the slower, so it depends on your shooting location - if you do shots of drifting cars you might go steeper and if you want to fly in a museum with much things which should not break you might go lower 😁👍

Got my first FPV drone recently (Emax Tinyhawk Freestyle 2) and the stock angle was waaay too steep (like 30 deg.), turns out to change it though I had to physically unscrew (well, loosen) the camera's position to change the tilt. I've put it at 0 degrees for the time being, for a beginner.

Nice! 0 degree was indeed too flat for me but for a beginning really good 😁👍

@@flickFPV I've grown used to flying at 0 deg on my previous GPS drone, so I'll start with that for the time being while learning. Anyway... The biggest obstacle with flying in FPV, for me, is the spatial awareness when in first person, mainly not being able to judge how high off the ground I am 🤷♂️ Any tips?

Sure - check your surroundings before every flight - how tall is a tree beside you how far is a tree/sign/parked car from you etc. then start the flight sometimes "look at yourself" compare your height relative to the drone - are you a small ant or a giant? You get spatial awareness by these tricks pretty fast

How are you liking the freestyle ? I got mine a week ago and I’m having a blast with it , but also had to physically loosen the cam as well to adjust the angle , idk why they ship it with the camera ALL THE WAY UP . I’m use to running with like 20-25 degrees in the sim so that’s what I was going for with mine , gonna practice split s tomorrow !

Sounds great! Especially the beginning is great 😅👍 Only flying into trees, crashing and breaking is the not so fun stuff in the beginning 🤣
