First impressions are they’ve taken something as simple as using rivets and made it complicated.

if i am not totally wrong, makita took over the huck cordless rivet gun (or huck completely maybe). i was looking for a cordless rivet gun a few years ago, and the makita drv150/250 looks 1:1 like huck in 2016, while there were no makita rivet guns. huck was expensive too, tho. btw. you see the foreignership of the drv150/250 on the battery compartment, which is also took over 1:1 (does it include some adapter? huck used makita 18v batteries back then. it just don't look familiar to any makita 18v tools, only the color changed). i would pay for a makita drv150z up to 250$ at max, 300$ for drv250... if makita finally adapts the technology, but makes a "seamless" 18v family member (rubber coated grip, more compact [battery compartment], better trigger, workinglight....) of the rivet gun, i would pay more and actually only then i would buy some for us :)

also changing the rivet size assembly could be adapted to some quick change lever mechanics. then it would be at least worth its money. because a cordless rivet gun does not save a lot of time, it just makes it more mobile/versatile (so at the current price point it is only for a limited target group). @makita: just to take notes... we have some dtm51 omts, now ordered the dts52z (brushless, starlock, greater oscillation angle). when you make better tools at a good price tag, you win.

@@Tomc12345 thanks, wasn't aware, that milwaukee offers one yet. metabo has one too. but here are both brands less available (bosch and makita and some low quality brands are). the more brands offer tools like this, the more makita and others will be under pressure to enhance and lower their prices. i am not even talking about prices, i just won't order a set of tools from more than a half decade of technical residue.
