This video lesson shows how to set up and mesh periodic boundaries using Ansys Fluent Meshing’s Watertight Geometry Workflow. The Watertight Geometry Workflow in Fluent Meshing is a guided workflow designed to quickly mesh any clean watertight geometry. The guided workflow directs a user through a step-by-step process of simple, intuitive inputs. Behind the scenes, Fluent Meshing uses built-in intelligence and automation to create a high-quality computational fluid dynamics (CFD) mesh. In this video, we learn how to use the Set Up Periodic Boundaries task in the Watertight Geometry Workflow. Using a hands-on example, we will analyze the different options in the task inputs panel and understand their effects on the surface mesh.
