Thanks so much for this - I bought this exact model from Adendorff and then couldn't find what to do with the negative battery connection.

Thanks for the great video. I have just bought the same generator and am planning to build an enclosure similar to what you show in the video. Couple of questions if I may: What fans did you use for FD and extraction? Brand? Size? Where can I get them? Are the extraction and FD the same and just reversed, or are they specific to their function? What did you use to extend the exhaust? How is it attached? Thank you.

Why are you claiming that the 7kW generator is 10KVA when Adendorff (the suppliers of this generator) say that it is only 8.75KVA???

Can I run a lawn mower on a 7kva generator. And on which side of the genni must the extractor fans be and the cooling fans, and what type of pipe did you use for the exhaust. Thank You

seems my generator is starting without using choke in closed position, is this normal... it happened after i swithched the mains on whilst load shedding, so it backfeed the power back into thje powerlines of the manucipality, but it works fine

Hi, regarding your earthing rod , please make sure your Generator neutral is earthed , measure the voltage between live and earth , you should get +_ 230 , if you getting anything between 80v to 120, your neutral is not earthed , during any earth fault, all metal part will be live and dangerous, Hopefully you understand.
@ecologicaltime

thanks for your comment. If the chassis is earthed, the metal parts should not be able to go live as the earth spike will short live voltage to earth.
@paulgisby4687

@@ecologicaltime Only if the earth is sufficiant to cause a fault current high enough to actually trip the breaker. A spike in the ground is not usually enough and must be used in conjuction with and earth leakage. Even then an earth leakage will not operater if its a VOV genertaor as described in the comment above.

I just bought a JDP10000E generator from Ardendorf, i want to fit a silencer to it but was told that if i do my warranty falls away is this true and secondly how do i make the generator silent,, plse assist
@ecologicaltime

they dont offer warranty unless you have proof of installation from an electrician by the way. I silence these noisy gennys by building a genny enclosure. I think i have a video showing one i did many years ago, it was made out of bricks with fans etc.

Do these type of Generators get wired into a DB or do you simply run a cord /or extension to your desired load ?
@morgancollett737
2 жыл бұрын
Adendorff recommended getting an electrician to wire it in to a changeover switch to the DB. You can run an extension cord, but use a thick one - 2.5mm at least, 4mm preferable. I suppose it depends on how much load you put on it - you'll burn out the extension lead before you max out this generator. There are two sockets on the generator, so running two separate leads with some load on each should help.

as close as possible, shorter cable runs are best.
