I got my son an electric drum kit for his birthday and the instructions were completely baffling. It was technically set up, but they didnt offer any best practices or tips. Basically, it was "8 steps and you are done, good luck going forward." This video is really helpful in tweaking the configuration. Thank you for taking the time and sharing your knowledge!

Nice. Been playing acoustic for a LONG time. Now I"m 60, just got a electric set and realizing I have to totally change the way I play and approach this new set up. Gave me some good ideas.....but basically, going to have to start over. I think my acoustic days are over.

Thanks. Great advice. I just got my Alesis Surge kit a week ago. I set it up and started playing as a rank beginner. It didn't feel just right so after watching your video I started over again, beginning with the throne just like you suggest. Then I positioned snare, then kick, and so on. Now it feels great.

Awesome 👍 I've been playing for 32 years, now. Although I come from an acoustic Kit background, I've been playing an electronic Kit for 12 years. Naturally, I already know this information... however, I'm always interested in how drummerZ choose to educate others... their style of teaching, the particular aspects of drumming that they cover...etc. I really like and appreciate how you explained the basic tennants of electronic drum 🥁 setup 🥁🥁 you definitely earned a Like and a Subscriber 👍👍👍😉😉😉🥁🥁🥁

I have about 20 hours of practice on an acoustic kit. I bought a ekit because I underestimated how loud an acoustic kit is. At first I didn't like it at all. The pads are super bouncy compared to my acoustic kit and I wasn't comfortable with the setup. I've tweaked the ekit a little over the last several days and with some play time I'm getting used to it. However I'm worried if I spend enough time on the ekit I'll dislike the acoustic kit. Life is hard haha

how to connect the electric drums into the amplifier?

It depends, but usually a guitar cable (mono 1/4" jack lead) does the tricks from the "mono out" on the drums to the input on the amplifier?

Here’s the problem with electronic kits. They’re mostly always set up wrong. A regular acoustic set can be set up ergonomically correctly so that the toms are in front of the snare drum and the ride cymbal over the kick drum. With most electronic kits, you can’t set them up that way.

Is it normal to change tombs position on e drums?
@philthebeat
3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I guess so! The downside on most e kits is that you can't really move them enough! You're often quite limited as they are all mounted to the same rack.

How can I set the hihat distance and height so my left hand and right hand sticks don't hit one another. I find I can't lift my left hand high without hitting the right hand stick. kzitem.info/news/bejne/mZ6Ov32XsWWAYJg
@philthebeat

Your hi hat seems to be quite far away from the snare, maybe try bringing it closer to you ( I see you have a double kick pedal which makes that a compromise). Also try adjusting the height of your hi hats relative to the snare drum!
@medeliworld
Жыл бұрын
@@philthebeat Yes, the double kick pedal, the left frame of the drum skeleton and the electronic module create some barriers for the placement of the hi hats. I have raised the height of the hi hats and moved the hi hats further back closer to the drum module. This solved the problem. You may want to create another video on how to set up electronic drum with double kick pedal. kzitem.info/news/bejne/kWp3qayCmICqYIo
