Hi, I have been getting a few comments about using an inline check valve. I just checked my video and I am deffinately using a check valve made by jbl with the neo diffuser which worked well in the demonstration. I must have done this as a safety precaution and did not realise that the bubble counter also acts as a check valve. Having an extra check valve is no harm if it works, looks like my other check valves are not suitable for use with an inline co2 diffuser (works with in tank diffuser like the neo diffuser just fine). Hope this information helps. Hope this information helps. I thought I would message as I am trying to reply to a couple of comments but unfortunately, I cant seem to reply for whatever unknown reason. Hope this information helps. Very best wishes, Natquascape

Great video but I do have one comment. The main valve on the CO2 tank should be either fully closed or fully open. In an intermediate position, some valves can leak. They are not designed to be left partially open.
@mattkershner1106
6 ай бұрын
ALL cylinders valves, are designed to only need cracked opened. They are designed that way, so flammable gases, can be shut off immediately in the event of a fire. I was director of safety for over 25 years. Everytime I saw a forklift, with the propane tank valve completely opened, I would write up the operator of that piece of equipment. Same with the welding shop. Valves are only to be opened 2-3 revolutions.

@Yolo-mz5yg
Жыл бұрын
@@Natquascape Yeah I understand, but you already have water in the bubble counter but that water doesn't go into the CO2 tank or solenoid valve. In this case the bubble counter is the check valve . Isn't it ? So the bubble counter is acting like a check valve . You don't need to use seprate check valve. Water is always present in the bubble counter but that water doesn't go to the CO2 tank or solenoid valve.I may be wrong 😅. But look at this thing .

Hi, great vid. Really helped as i just bought that co2art model. So how do you purge excess co2 from that regulator when bottle is empt? ..cause i heard that excess co2 can blow the gauses. I'm using sodastream for co2 with co2 supermarket adaptor. It has a dial on top that lowers pin to open co2. So once i turn off co2 of empty bottle then what..?. I want to do it the safest way without damaging regulator. Thank you. I just subbed.

I'm new to CO2 and I'm finding your information delivery very good. Curious about not using CO2-proof tubing on the output of the inline diffuser. Possibly because it is in the water return, diluting the CO2 concentration? Thank you!
@Natquascape
3 жыл бұрын
Hi, so any residual CO2 when reacted with water will turn to carbonic acid, which in time, could slowly degrade the tubing. I think the tubing will be full of co2 and water will react to give carbonic acid, the concentration of which I am not sure. The reason I did not use co2 resistant tubing is because I got fed up of it not fitting tight onto the inline diffuser outlet haha, silicon tubing just worked better

Moving from my 2-bottle DYI CO2 system to a steel canister tonight, and looking for a video that shows in-depth how the manifold and solenoid work. This fit the bill perfectly. Details like pointing out that the close position on the first valve is unscrewed all the way, direction of flow on the check valve, how to turn the system on -- all excellent. Now will be looking for an update on how to decompress the system when it's time to switch the fuel (citric acid and baking soda). In theory, easy, but... so much better to see it done!

Hello! I really enjoy all your video guys. I have a quick question. Is it good or bad to place the Co2 diffuser just next to the suction pipe of my external filter? I'm thinking like this the Co2 has more time to dissolve in the water before being injected back to the tank via the outlet pipe. But maybe the Co2 concentration will be too high for my beneficial bacteria inside my external filter. What are your thought about it ?

Can I keep the air pump running on 24/7 or only at night when using co2?
@Natquascape
3 жыл бұрын
Ok - best thing you can do is get some timers that plug into a socket. I have just switched from mechanical timers to wifi programable timers, game changer for me. Get one for co2 and one for the air pump. Check out my video on how to set up lights for planted aquarium, you can buy this for lights (the one I recommend) from amazon: www.amazon.co.uk/Aquarium-Modulator-Lighting-Controller-Intelligent/dp/B07M59NWVD?pd_rd_w=k8rrT&pf_rd_p=81ce6caf-beb7-4fac-8db2-f73b3de1e5da&pf_rd_r=0WDZGJN0JPKPMJFCCHNR&pd_rd_r=c81d7bf3-fa02-4c3d-860c-31587337b802&pd_rd_wg=6Vo4X&pd_rd_i=B07M59NWVD&psc=1&ref_=pd_bap_d_rp_3_i Ok - so in the first phase of setting up, 6hrs of light max for about 4 weeks, then either ramp up intensity or duration. CO2 1-2hrs before lights; co2 off 1-2 hrs before lights. THEN, time the air pump to come on 1hr after lights go off. let the air pump run over night and to turn off 2hrs before CO2 comes ON ithe next day. Hope this makes sense and that I have been helpful.

Question, I have a 6ft (500 lt) tank that l want to install co2 with an inline diffuser, problem is my canister filter has large tubing, 22/28 roughly and l cant find any diffusers to suit so l would have to install reducers on each end of the tubing to make the 16/22 fit which of course would restrict the efficiency of the filter itself. Do you see this as a problem, should l just install an in tank diffuser? Cheers in advance.

My advice would be inline co2 for 6foot to ensure co2 distribution. You would have to go for reduction adaptors my friend. I have had a look for larger inline diffusers and have failed to find any. I think you will be OK interms of filter performance.

Nice vid! Thinking of getting c02 for my 60 gallon tank. Just bought the oase biomaster Thermo 600. Seems like inline is the way to go.

Hi! Thank you! Yes....if you have an oase 600 I would definitely go with inline. I've always got better results with inline co2

Yes, definitely go inline if you are using a canister filter.

WOW this video randomly popped up, and I couldn’t be happier, as I’m looking to set up for the first time a CO-2 cylinder properly, with all the attachments and as there’s such a variety of systems from cheap to expensive, not forgetting the long term running costs, depending on what you choose to go with, your video is priceless, full of great advice, as well as demonstrating ‘how too’ set it all up, along with tips and suggestions, so thank you. 🙏👏 I’ve liked and subbed. 👍

Hi, 100% place co2 near the outflow pipe, never near the intake pipe.
