Wings have next to no effect on tyre wear, so barely worth mentioning. Setup wise, the thing that has the biggest effect on tyre wear is the tyre pressures. Low pressure = high tyre wear High pressure = low tyre wear. From minimum to max the difference can be huge, 1% extra per lap. It's completely broken and not at all realistic, but that's how the game works. Max tyre pressure is just the META
@SidOfRivia
2 жыл бұрын
@@mplevey what’s the benefit of low tyre pressure then? increased mechanical grip?
@mplevey
2 жыл бұрын
@@SidOfRivia not much TBH. Gives the car a much softer feel (which some may or may not like), and rides kerbs better so you can hit them harder, but you can do that by running soft suspension as well. I would say always run the highest tyre pressure you can that won't overheat the tyres, especially the softs which overheat during the race at most tracks. The front tyres overheat worse than the rear and depending on the track left or right will be worse as well. It's optimal to adjust each tyre so it doesn't overheat over 103 degress. For example, my Singapore setup has different tyre pressures for each tyre to optimise temps and wear.

I’m sorry but doing 50% off Throttle doesn’t lock the inside wheel. The differential allows the wheels to turn at different speeds. 100% locked makes it so both rear wheels turn at the same speed regardless of rotation of the vehicle. So in straights it’s beneficial to have it 100% locked and unlocked in corners to allow both wheels to turn at different speeds, because the outside tire is turning faster than the inside tire.

I don't know for sure but I think most time trial setups use very high pressures as that's pretty good over 1 lap but you'll start overheating massively on the softer tyres during a race. So I think in general lower pressures for race setups
@gruhnd9711
2 жыл бұрын
@@Glitch315 Yes and no. On the one hand u want to control the tyre temps to ensure that they don't exceed 102-103° (kind of the magic number here). At the same time, running higher pressures will give you more high speed stability and way less tyre wear, meaning that you should always run the highest pressures possible (before the tyres overheat.) Hope that helps!

Nice One, Cheers for the quick intro into this years setups !! You said that this was a simple introduction to the setups for the 2021 version and obviously various parts work for and against each other, so you need to figure out the balance between each parts setting so they all work in harmony to give us the best performance !! With that said, will you be doing a more in-depth video explaining the finer points and your thoughts on which parts and settings you think work best together and which ones don't Etc. Etc. ??? I'd like to hear your thoughts and see what you think works and doesn't work within the game compared to real life, because I bet there's quite a few people out there that know how things work in real life but actually doesn't in the game !! I wish they could make it so that the setups worked and effected the cars the same as they do in real life because some of the settings you made in this video would be a nightmare on a real track in a real car !! If you would take the time to make a video like this, I'm pretty sure a lot of players would appreciate it, especially since most people don't have the time to run lap after lap testing each little setting tweak/change.....It would be very helpful to have a deeper understanding of the games mechanics !! What do you think ??

Also balance of the car changes when you put fuel in.. its not best option to just use TT setup and fill it with fuel.. ofcourse because of tires, but also because of general handling.. in TT you run like hotlap mode with ers, which you dont in race, so also aero doesnt work same, if you do a corner lets say 20km/h slower than in TT.
