TARGET TABLECLOTHS:
So when I check into the Threshold linen tablecloths, it appears that Target no longer sells them. I checked several times to find linen tablecloths and they do carry some but not for the price I'm used to paying ($25.99 ea).
TIP:
Make sure if you are purchasing a linen tablecloth that it is 100% linen. Some "linen" tablecloths will have polyester and other synthetic materials that will not be as comfortable to wear.

STEPS TO SEWING A FABRIC SHAWL:
1. Wash and iron the fabric you'll be using for your shawl.
2. Cut your fabric 55" x 55" square.
3. Fold and press the edges of your shawl in 1/4" on all 4 sides.
4. Now fold the edges of your shawl in another 1/2" and press on all 4 sides.
5. Fold in the each corner to a mitered corner as you would for a quilt (see video for demo of this step).
6. Pin each corner so it doesn't shift while sewing.
7. Using 1/4" seam allowance, sew around all 4 sides of your shawl. Backstitch at the beginning and end of the rows of stitching.
8. (optional step but recommend) Sew another 1/4" seam allowance 1/4" away from previous seam allowance. This will really reinforce the edges of your scarf.
9. Give your shawl a final press (optional).
TIPS FOR SEWING YOUR SHAWL AND HOW TO WEAR IT:
1. If you are sewing your shawl from linen fabric, pre-wash your fabric PRIOR to cutting it out. Linen is a natural fiber with a tendency to stretch and then shrink. You'll want this to happen before you go through the work of making your shawl.
2. Press your fabric (linen) without steam. Again, this will keep the fabric from stretching.
3. This is a very beginner friendly sewing project so just have fun with it. Nobody will be able to tell when its finished if the seam allowance is a little off in places. Remember, you'll be wearing it :)
4. Use bracelets, watches, leather band bracelets, hair scrunchies and more for add style to your wrap shawl.
