These are so pretty! I love the "pop" sound your video makes. So cute, it really catches my attention. You're binding is so perfect! Very good explanation of how to attach bining.

Thanks so much Sue☺️. I did wonder if there were too many “pops” all this editing is a learning lesson of its own😅.

I am so glad to hear that this tutorial has been an encouragement! It really is an awesome project for beginners. And if you end up making the table runner, these placemats and then next weeks pot holders you will have learned how to "bind" three different ways! If you have any questions just let me know! I love to help.

You said you were stitching in the ditch when sewing on the binding to the raw edges? I thought stitch in the ditch meant quilting on the previously sewn seams of the strips? I am a beginner and excuse me if this is a dumb question. LOL!

I’m sorry Laura! Without rewatching the video I am thinking I was trying to say that you sew along the crease of the binding. But you are right. Stitch in the ditch does mean what you thought. If you want a tutorial to see what I intended I made this tutorial: kzitem.info/news/bejne/uH2wupawkKSFZ6g or I have a better binding idea that I have done since this video: kzitem.info/news/bejne/03uBv5WsjJRmn6Q happy sewing! Hope this clears things up.

As a beginner, It would have been helpful to show sewing of 2 pieces to next pieces and ditch .

I need to make 12 placemats, a double long table runner, and pot holders. I love jelly rolls. How many rolls would I need to do this? Can I do the cheater binding method you posted in the other placemat video vs using bias tape?

Great instructions but you talk far to quickly for me. I kept having to pause & rewind (I’m a beginner).

Thanks for the helpful criticism Carol 😀 those kinds of critiques are appreciated. I have since tried to slow down a bit in my editing style. Hopefully it helps.
