ATTENTION:
For the US Mask-Makers:
Requirements ARE constantly evolving. This tutorial was made BEFORE the tip from the nurse mentioned that the mask HAD TO HAVE 2 different colours. This can still be easily done using this tutorial. Just cut 2 separate pieces of 8” x 8.5” (width x height) and join and sew with 0.5” seam allowance. Roll in the seams as usual but leave the gap right at the bottom instead of rolling it behind. The reason why I used one solid piece of fabric for this tutorial initially - was to save time. Using 2 different pieces to make the mask means double the cutting time and an extra line to sew. Hope this helps.

Hope it helps more people get on board with wearing homemade masks.
In this video, I showed 2 ways of securing the mask - by elastic cords and tying by twill tapes. There’s also a little more precision in pleating if “winging the pleats” isn’t your favorite thing.
Towards the end of the video, I also shared how you can make adjustable elastic loops by tying fisherman’s knots. Fixed length elastics isn’t my favorite way to sew up masks actually as I prefer a little more flexibility to adjust the length. 🙂
Stay safe everyone!
