@@jB..33b854 I've only had time to make the box tee so far and it went great! I ordered a sewing machine that came with a walking foot (ST150HDH). I found that, while the machine is absolutely superb, the walking foot caused the kit's fabric to get caught up in the plate. So, I removed the walking foot and had zero issues what so ever. I definitely recommend the DIY kit and the ST150HDH for that matter.

Dude I Tried to follow your tutorial, I had prepared and cut the fabric, but it was so difficult follow, because you are too fast and sometimes the aesthetic camera shots don’t show the process well, as example I wished I could see top view how you align the sleeves with the body, but instead I only see the table from the side with undifined clothing on it, I am sorry but as somebody who sees for the first time it’s too difficult to follow, I had to rewatch the vids like 50 times and listen super concentrated to get kinda what I have to do… I still appreciate your effort though and that you put free pattern online I really appreciate that.

if the material is100% cotton it should be washed in HOT WAER. THIS IS WHERE ANY SHIRNKAGE HAPPENS, usually not in the dryer. p.s. before washing any fabric sew the raw edges. usually, the cut edges. the woven edges are called salvages. i use a regular stitch, a larger stitch allows easy pulling of threads in the wash. especially denim. it will mess the pump up in the washer. it will save you hundreds in repair bills. you can always use starch, and iron the fabric to give it more body or stiffness to cut and sew with.

Tip: The wonder clips are made to be used with the clear part (the straight part) against the sewing machine bed, with the colored part (the curved part) facing up. If used in that position, they move more freely as you're sewing. Great tutorial! Thanks!

Just be sure that if you don't preshrink your fabric before sewing with it, you always wash and dry the garment the same way as you did before. If it accidentally makes it into the dryer with heat, it'll shrink. I always wash it the same way I plan to treat the garment in the future to avoid this problem.

Weirdly enough I haven't been able to find a simple explanation of when to use cotton or polyester threads. So for this video even just that information laid out was worth the watch. Most articles ive found go into the mechanics of each thread type and is quite confusing for a beginner who really just wants to know a basic rule of thumb to follow. I know it's a small thing to get hung up on but when you want to do things right it happens. So thank you for this video and the others of yours I've come across while learning!

Love your videos. You are a wonderful sewist. Thank you for sharing your time and talent. Just a thought quilters use a small scrap of fabric at the start of the seam to help stop the machine from eating your fabric. Also you may find that marking your neckline and ribbing in fourths instead of thirds is easier. Match shoulder seams together and put a pin in each fold gives you fourths with no measuring.

Brilliantly detailed and clear video. Just be aware if you are not using the kit but other fabric and pattern, prewash the fabric the way you plan to handle the finished shirt. Don't avoid shrinkage at the beginning if you are going to treat the finished shirt in a way that will shrink it, or your shirt may be too tight.

when threading a twin needle it's best practice to thread all the way and then the other, instead of sending both threads through at the same time. even though they're both going through the same parts don't do them at the same time. cause if you do them both at the same time you can introduce a twist in your thread which might cause the threads to snap. often it's okay but sometimes it's just the worst. also if someone sews a straight stitch around the neck hole without the twin needle the thread will snap when they pull it over their head. they're going to have to zig zag it even if it looks a bit weird.
@GloryAllan
