I’ve often said that if there was one skill that could improve all my leather crafting, it would be better sharpening skills, especially with the round knife. Thanks! I really like the “clicker’s knife” with the curved blade, as well.

Thanks for making this video. I've only been using a strop but I haven't tried the stones yet. Will definitely try it out

Thanks Bruce. Bet I've tossed 2 dozen blades this past year alone. I think the hooked blade confused me. Not any more.

Where do you get the curved blade

Several different places, Tandy Leather, Weaver Leather Supply and Ohio Travel Bag has the handles and blades. Thanks for asking!

That stone on the right is absolutely inadequate and way to “hollow”. You need to make it flat/straight again using a flattening stone.

@@cheaneysaddles it’s funny you would say that considering you obviously have no idea what you are talking about. Anyone with any knowledge about whetstones in general will back what I said up. That stone is good for the trash, and clearly, so are your skills and knowledge on this topic. There is an obvious reason flattening stones exist. Your ignorance does not equate to me “not knowing what I’m talking about”. What an arrogant and ignorant thing to say.

@@cheaneysaddles maintaining the right angle is the most important part of sharpening and you cannot do that with a stone that is not flat and obviously out of misshapen and dished out like yours. The fact you don’t know that shows YOU are the one who doesn’t know what you’re talking about bud.
