Not all ten speeds are the same its the same patern but i learned in my dads 2017 international prostar.the 1/6 to 2/7 is return to neutral middle and straight up . The gears felt more defined and separate not as tight close together.when i went to trucking school the 2022 Kenworth had it tight . So to go from 1/6 to 2/7 you return to middle neutral but slight pressure to the left hold and up. This was hard to get used to at first. But i got it. And hard left up is reverse . Idk if this makes sense but it was different for me at least
@sk8ter4fun

Yeah I've had different 10 speeds. This is the overwhelming majority of what I used. The weirdest one was 3 lever positions one being neutral and the others low and high. And the second lever for reverse. It was wild

There are soft walls and hard walls in these trucks, while you are learning you get used to feeling the soft wall and you will easily slip into 2nd. Hard walls are on the very ends of the shifter. Soft walls are in the middle for gears 2,3/7,8.

It’s very easy it’s really just a H then u restart the process for 6-7-8-9-10 same thing not hard and to know what gear to be in look at the speed limit if it’s 25mph then u have to be in 7th all u do is add the two numbers up and that’s what gear u have to be in 😎💰

No. You wanna load the clutch with your left and brake with your right. You basically let it go to the point where you're just about to let the clutch grab and when your going to take off quickly move your foot off the brake. Give it gas and let go up the clutch

Does it matter where / when you flip the switch in 5th or when are you allowed to flip? Clutch in or anything?
@x_flies
8 ай бұрын
No. You can flip the switch as soon as you are in 5TH gear but I usually prefer to flip it simultaneously while going into 6TH because it’s all in one motion,especially in city driving. But if you’re out on the interstate and its all about acceleration, you can flip it as soon as you get into 5th gear. Good luck and consider yourself lucky that someone gave you a manual transmission. Thats real trucking and its much safer too.
