Did you not add flashing because you are under the gable?

That and its a free standing shed, id guess. I would've done some sort of flashing but this will prob work fine if you're prepared to re-caulk it every 5 years or so.

Hi Eugene, I just came across your article about rebar (which is great by the way!) I need some guidance on adding rebar to a cement footer that will be supporting stringers of porch stairs I am building. Would you be able to help?

Shingle and flashing sealant. Found in most hardware stores in the roofing materials area.

@@wisconsinwoodsman1987 What is the thing you start with? You cut it in half and then remove a tape from it then install it at the bottom. Is that tar paper?

The drip edge is super easy to do. I enjoyed putting that on V.S shingling.

I don’t know what pitch is on that roof, but it looks borderline to use tabbed shingles. Min pitch 3/12 for shingles??? Not sure. Nice job

The slope is 2.96 : 12 (Rise=11, Run=44-1/2") The minimum roof slope for asphalt shingles is 2 : 12

Great job, but the worst flashing I've ever seen. That wouldn't last a season in the uk, Surely a flashing needs to be lifted 4inch then tucked into the gable end or under lapping to form a water tight seal ? Great job but a poor finish sorry ? Unless however the sealant you used is some kind of superior mastic we don't have in the uk ?

I hate to say it but your nail placement is completely wrong. You have nails in Seams (keyways) where 2 shingles meet that’s a invitation for a leak and it already is leaking. If you go out with a pry bar and look at the nails the heads will be rusted already. Also there is no roof to wall flashing (apron) so any wind driven rain will come right in there

Why are you measuring so much ? The lines on the tar paper. Should tell you if you are in line.

Don't ever count on the tar paper lines being square to your roof structure.
