Thank you so much Miki...here in Nova Scotia you can't get the 7" stainless rods anymore, my friend Henry has been welding for 60 years and you will make his day with your video

It's great that you are welding, its a fantastic skill to have, but be very careful while welding galvanized steel. You can die very quickly from the zinc oxide fumes

You've put a bit of (annoying in my opinion) comedy onto this helpful video. Still, try to search for "shorten weld sticks" and see for yourself how much your video is a precious one. Thank you and greetings from Portugal.

Hey mikl 1 more question mate. Ok so i went welding shopping today. The place had 2 cigweld models. The original i went to buy the 140amp stick (10amp plug) and a 180amp stick (15amp plug). The 180amp stick was actually on special so it was the same price. As the 140amp. A mate of mine rigged up a different head on a 15amp lead that was a metre long (because he also has 10amp circuits in his shed and he wanted to use it on a portable generator on the farm). I didnt buy either. But it doesnt make sense for me to buy the 140amp for the same price as a 180amp cigweld... i may end up with a 15amp circuit one day in my shed... I know you mentioned you did the powerlead hack... did it work well? Thanks mate ill head back tomorrow to choose... i nearly came home with the 180 buf just wanted to make sure. For the same price. Oh there was also a "viper brand" 160amp on a 15amp lead too. Which was a $100 cheaper at $250 also on special. Both cigwelds were $370.

All good man. I'd grab the 180 amp cigweld. Both sound like great machines by the price. I wouldn't trust viper/unimig, they don't have the same reputation as cigweld, and the customer service and warranty most likely aren't as good. With the powerlead hack, it's never caused me any issues. Good luck man.

@@MiklthePikl hey man well I went to go get the 180.. and came home with a 255i transmig.... 3 in 1... it totalled 2K. When I thought about it ill probly be ending up coming back to the shop to get a mig... so I may as well get a Do all... the 180 3 in 1 i also liked but then I thought what if I need more duty cycle later on... so i thought stuff it... an extra 400 bucks will get me the 255... so with a max 250amps im happy. Thats all ill ever need for the years to come. And its actually not that big standing tall unit like an older 250 size are. The size of this 250amper impressed me. Its a bit bigger than lunchbox size and but I can still put it on the back of the ute and head up the back of thr paddocks and run it off a diesal generator to fix a gate or tractor or such. As I always work off the back of my ute anyway I dont need to walk around with it inside a back pack or over my shoulder... Now im off to wire up a 15amp lead with a 10amp head. Ill end up putting a 15amp socket in the shed in a few months time and buy a bottle of argon. For now im practicising with the stick and building a pot belly stove out of 3 truck drum brakes from thr local steel scrap yard.... i can flog a few off in my country town for good money at the start of winter and ill get that money back after a few sales. Thanks for your advice mikl 👍😎
