Very unique & outstanding demo. I've never dragged "sales data" THRICE or even twice into the 'values area' using a pivot table. Excellent tutorial. Many thanks, Danny.

Thank you! I am pleased that you enjoyed my Excel Pivot Table Video Tutorial. Quickly - and without seeing your data set - here is my suggestion: Eliminate column 3 - as you currently have it. Rather, add column 2 into the Pivot Table Values a 2nd time. Then, from the values format menu - in the show values tab - select % of Column. That - as I understand your question - should solve your problem. Danny Rocks The Company Rocks

Great Video Danny, I have a different scenario however. Lets say you want to get percentages for test scores for example. Column 1 would be test name : (Mid Term 1, Mid Term 2, Final Exam) Cloumn 2 would be total points earned: (70, 80, 90) Column 3 would be Total points possible: (100, 100, 100) How do you get the pivot table to reflect the percentage column 2 makes up of column 3? Obviously I know 70/100=70% but I want the Pivot table to display this in a 4th column (after Col. 1,2,&3).

Hi Danny, Thanks for the video. I have a question. Assuming that you have another column as Profit . Column E = Product, Column F= Sales, Column G= Profit . In this scenario if i need to find out the Percentage in Column H- [ Profit/Sales] for each Product in a row . How do i t find that in Pivot Table in Excel-2007?

Danny, tanks for this video - very useful! I have a question about pivot tables that is also related to percentages. I am using pivot table to create a simple histogram of the scores in a class test (I use a pivot chart to show the distribution). I use group selection on the Marks (which is a % in my source sheet) to create bands from 0% to 100% in 5% increments. This works and I can see how many students score in each mark band. However, on the chart (and in the pivot table) these ranges show up as 0.5-0.55, 0.55-0.6, 0.6-0.65 etc. I'd like them to display as 50%-55%, 55%-60%, 60%-65% etc. At least on the chart. Any idea how Id achieve that?

I am having an issue generating percentages. My row label is broken down by month and I have three columns "total views", "paid video views", and "earned video views" I would like to breakdown the paid and earned by percentage of total views. How would I do this?

It's too bad the video link is messed up. I would have liked to see how it works. The skip add box comes up, the commercial add won't play, and you never get to the video? Bummer!
