Really enjoyed the video! Thank you! I subscribed already. I'm gonna watch your other videos with the exercices to improve at this. If in the future I would be interested in taking sight singing lessons, do you teach online lessons?

this is really helpful! thanks for posting. my question is, if i dont know if it's major or minor key, how do i quickly find my Do?
@MrsMusicalPants
2 жыл бұрын
That really depends on a few things. Are you using fixed or movable Do? It also depends on the key that you are in. Are you trying to find a Do by ear or playing it on an instrument?

Thank you so much. I am preparing for grade 4 and part of the practical exam is a sight singing exercise. I tried it for the first time yesterday and was shocked that it was impossible for me. Thanks to you feel more confident in approaching this part of the exam. THANKS again.

Is it ok that I learn fixed do first?
@MrsMusicalPants
2 жыл бұрын
A lot of people use fixed do. And a lot of people use movable do. Movable do seems to be an easier way for singers who don't know music that much to be able able to quickly learn how to sing songs in all sorts of different keys. Fixed do requires a lot more training and practice for sight-singing. I would say use the system that works best for you. You can adapt both systems but it might feel a little bit confusing at first.

@@MrsMusicalPants Thank you very much! I am much more clear now. I am a self taught learner, my final goal is compose my own pieces. I am practicing fixed do now.😇 And I plan to adapt both system at the end.

Do you have any advice for how to finally crack accidentals?
@MrsMusicalPants

Can you specify your answer a little more? do you mean how do you get better at reading and singing accidentals in music?
@edwardmirza

@@MrsMusicalPants Hi there, yes. Are they usually part of some minor key, or do you have any tips for finally improving the ability to read them? Thank you.
@MrsMusicalPants
Жыл бұрын
@@edwardmirza Minor keys will usually have two notes raised (Fa becomes Fi, So becomes Si). That's the most common. It does depend whether you use La or Do based minor to read your music. In my exercises I use La based. What you could do it practice simple patterns with Fa/Fi, So/Si variations and then apply that to and exercise/music you are trying to read.

@@MrsMusicalPants Thank you. And is it usually the case that an accidental is because of a m nir scale? In the case they are not, do have a quick tip for dealing with them? Thank you.

At 0:26 I heard that you really sang at pitch of Re Re Mi, FaFa Sol instead of Do Do Re, Mi Mi Fa? What was wrong?
