Some people are so intuitive. It is taking me a lifetime to learn how to sing, but I have so much depth now. And you young people are helping me learn this mixed voice which is going to bring my game to the next level.

I don't think it's about intuition, it's about the increased availability of information these days. Algorithms can sense what you're interested in, and then they bombard you with information, multiple hours a day. I believe people will start to learn faster and faster because of this.

To anyone out their without vocal training trying this I would advise against dropping your larynx too low as it can damage your voice. Larynx positioning is very important, too high or too low and the vocal flaps start hating you.

When I forget how to do it I find mine by sucking air inwards and wheezing with my falsetto, Then I just guide it down by opening my throat and my mouth in order to get into vocal fry. Then putting a little bit of pressure in the diaphragm in order to create sounds from the fry. From there on in I try to produce the same sound by breathing outwards since the other way around seems to be more taxing and dangerous. If you guide the system through your nose instead of down you can also make whistle notes pretty easily, but it will fatigue you fast

Hey there! Very good video and it’s good to see it on you but it’s a little different on me. On my lower notes I can reach that crackling effect but it doesn’t sound like a lower note it doesn’t sound like a note at all it’s just a lagging something :D. When I want to sing higher notes I can’t even loosen my vocal chords to even crackle like in the lower area. That’s the thing I saw your inspiring 3 years of development but for me I got stuck with the loosening part :/ could you help me with that in a video please? :) (I have a pretty deep voice [can easily sing “baby lock them doors and turn the lights down low” haha :D] and I can go very high with my singing but it seems that I can’t “break” that border between head and chest voice and I couldn’t find a solution)

I don’t know if I’m doing it or not, I know how to throat sing and when I try to subharmonic sing, it sounds pretty similar to the point where I can’t tell if I’m accidentally slipping into throat singing or not??
@StudioWestLessons
10 ай бұрын
It should feel pretty different. Throat singing requires the usage of a supraglottic structure vibrating. That means something other than vocal folds, that is above the vocal folds, needs to vibrate as well to produce a noise in throat singing. This could be the false vocal folds for example. The effort level doing a false fold subharmonic and a true fold (creaking/fry) subharmonic will be readily apparent. You can always push into your abdomen underneath your sternum (and xiphoid process) with a couple fingers to gauge the resistance in your support. A supraglottic effect for throat singing should take a noticeable amount of support where you fingers get firmly pushed outwards while the creaking subharmonic should not engage your abdomen to such an extent. Hope this helps. -Gregory West

Greg can u make a video how to make the voice above the second passagio not thin? Because I found out in a low tenor (I'm so depressed, I wanna die) and my second passagio is at f4# (which freakin sucks!!) but after the f4# my voice either cracks, flips in falsetto or sound VERY thin. Do u know how to make it not thin?
@yousaf653
6 жыл бұрын
Sometimes when I'm VERY warmed up I can hit an f4 in my chest voice at a very low volume. Like nearly at a whisper volume but it's not a whisper-light mixed it's more of the chest sound and a little bit of light fix and my voice will crack on the g4 instead of the f4# but that's only when I warm up for 2hours
@yousaf653
6 жыл бұрын
Hank u so much for the descriptive information! But I'm confused, if I'm not a dramatic tenor, why does my voice transition after c4# and after f4# ? Because that's the exact same place that dramatic tenors sing. Also, am I really not singing loud?! I thought I was one of the loudest singers in the world LOL. That's crazy! Also if I'm not a dramatic tenor does that mean I'm a bass baritone or a lyric baritone ? Because in that recording my voice sounds very deep (I didn't really notice it was that deep)
@yousaf653
6 жыл бұрын
I think my low range is good. He use to only be able to go to an g3 but now I can go to an c3 but it's hard to sing under it. My lowest note I've hit is an a2 and when I was sick and my voice was really deep I hit an g2# but it was very hard
@yousaf653
6 жыл бұрын
Oh then I don't know. I don't know any opera singers. But how is trey songz not a dramatic tenor? His middle voice is really deep. Also, what u said before about that I might be a lyric tenor I don't think I am because Liam Payne is a light lyric tenor and he's a full trained tenor and his second passagio is at e4 and mine is at f4# which is higher than is
@yousaf653
6 жыл бұрын
Also I find it hard to hit low notes. I can only sound down to an c3 then it's very hard to sing lower. I feel more comfortable singing in the above middle c area than the low notes
