Amazed at how much I'm learning from your "Free 7 Day Emails" along with your cd. I knew literally nothing, and your lessons/exercises take time to really get. To me, it's a months long course. Thank you so much for making it available. Do you have any videos on training your ear?

Listen man, I’ve just watched your videos about voice physiology, registers, chest voice and now this one and within one hour I learnt to do stuff with my voice I couldn’t get right for months! And I’m a trained classical singer and SLP 😬 I absolutely LOVE your work and I’ll be forever thankful! ❤️ And I’m not even exaggerating 😅 God bless you Dr. Dan! 🙏🏻

I watched this video a few months ago and can now confirm that the "no way" exercise gave me a real epiphany. I started learning to sing 10 years ago, but I only *sometimes* got the sound I wanted around the G4-Bb4 range, and I didn't know why. If I warmed up to it, it would often happen, but I couldn't just do it consciously. Now I can! Something about doing that exercise after watching a couple of your videos about twang resonated with me. My study of singing had given me control over breath pressure, larynx, tongue position, etc, but I never understood the proper coordination of those elements for this kind of tone. (Specifically, I was always trying to sing with the feeling of more space everywhere, because I thought everything was supposed to be "open." But for the belt sound I actually needed to sing with the feeling of *less* space in the back of my mouth, closer to the NG position.) This has also helped me do transitions more easily and primed me to learn how to produce a chesty tone in head voice. (I didn't learn that from this video, but it was much easier because of this video.) So, thank you!

Your videos have been such a huge help to me! I'm almost confident enough to start recording myself for real to do my first cover. I'm a contralto range so it's been difficult to find out how to sing properly before and know what I can and can't do with my anatomy & what to exercise. My voice is so much stronger now and I have you to thank!

This person is a certified Dr of musical arts and expert of the voice, he talks science and he's telling us that stretching your TA dominant mechanism is both posible , desired and it can be done in a healthy manner. Please stop listening to all of those other vocal teachers and coaches telling you otherwise. Learning mixed voice IS important, really important, but please, don't neglect your TA and vocalis muscles or you'll never be able to sing with true power and emotion, some of the most amazing songs and ballads require 90% belting and 10% mixed voice and falsetto.

Thx Dan, that clears some terminology and makes me realise, that I've been using "belt" technique, instinctively you may say, as long as I remember. But should I be content and avoid the upper pasaggio beyond A4? If I want to continue, I must abandon that glorious and powerful resonance *sob* and change to that softer lane... and still, I'm often halted at the same point (A4) as if my muscular "circuits" were burned in permanently... what more, using "belting" makes the control of this process far more difficult. Now, I remember some very definite opinions, that countertenor technique IS dangerous to ones voice, which I find absurd, partly because I find it more stressful to sing usin

I can't feel vibrations in my chest in e4 up...its not chest voice... I can't feel it either in my head...but I feel it in my nose and cheeks..does this automatically mean I'm mixing?if so..then I am happy...need some breath support and neutral larynx to be perfectly fine..plus I feel I am nearing the end of puberty since there is less vocal cracks...most of my vocal cracks are from bad technique lol
