Just started putting a serious effort in singing last May 2021 because of this guy. I’m no Corey Taylor/ Richard Patrick or David Draiman but I was able to incorporate a LOT of Chris’ techniques on my KZitem covers. Thank you Chris!!!!

Maynard also does that vocal flip on the word (oh so many ways for me to show you HOW) on how he starts it with the yodel flip, Kurt does this all the time. Because alot of TOOL the vocals are too quiet to hear the flip but somehow I knew he was always singing that way. Crazy the things we learn from you Chris

Your experience based method has changed how I approach singing and is the single most significant factor in my improvement even in two years with a physical vocal teacher. You are the man!

With the help of great teachers like Chris I'm starting to uncover that there is no such thing as not-born-to-be-a-singer. Yeah, some of us are born with a unique "singable" tone, kind of a boost to your musical adventure. But the truth is it just starts with single tone, and singer only becomes really great when he actually studies+practices a ton different techniques and ideas and acquires diversity and freedom. If I knew this before I won't hesitate to start actually learning stuff and practicing my vocal. Well, I know it now - and the road ahead promises a lot of fun!

Ronnie James Dio , my favorite singer of all time also hums before and throughout his songs which I think helps him or helped him to master those great runs and expressive notes too.

Love your videos, Chris. I've been following for a year or so already, and you helped me a lot with distortion! I also discovered and studied Britta's course thanks to you! If you think it would be good content for the channel, I would like to see your analysis on Lenny Kravitz. Thanks and keep up the good work!

Love your videos! been watching them for awhile, has really helped me understand the physical aspect of singing. Could you possibly do a vocal analysis of Benjamin Burnley? or a video of his way of singing. Thanks!
can you do a vocal analysis on Faouzia? her voice, tone and range is phenomenal, she's got a very fast vibrato, a lot of power and uses a yodelling technique, which makes her voice very unique. it would mean a lot thank you :)

I sing in a cover band and sometimes I have trouble reaching the high A in the chorus of Have you ever seen the rain, so I started singing N in my mouth before reaching that note, so I will sing “nnn-I wanna know” as a way of finding my mix and not pulling chest, but I thought of it as cheating, like I was using a crutch to get to that note. I don't think I ever saw someone explain it like you did, now I don't feel like a cheat haha!

Hey Chris! Great contet as usual! Any chance you can do an analysis on “She Couldn’t” by Linkin Park? Or at the very least get the stems/audio you use for your videos? I’d be willing to pay you no joke! It’s literally my favorite song and it’s a dream to have it analyzed by you! Great job

Hey Chris! Not quite relevant to this video, but I was thinking Jack Black was a good example of separating tone and vowels with his animated face, I'm realizing it's not being silly, there's function to it. Would you agree?
