Do you really need to get a native sounding accent?
Today I'm talking about the study method used to get a near native-sounding accent in Chinese in less than two months. 80-100 Hours of deliberate studying is enough to get you there, no matter how old you are or your current level.
I also talk about common misconceptions:
1. After a certain age (the critical period), it's impossible to get a native accent in a foreign language.
2. Accent doesn't matter. As long as people can understand you, you're fine.
If your goal is to go travel abroad and just want to be able to order food and ask for directions, then yeah accent doesn't matter too much. But if you want to live, work, and make friends in English, you might want to spend more time on your accent.
