As a drummer I appreciate bass players like you that listen to the kick pattern and either match it or play off of it. It sounds SO good!

Very nice and well explained ! Easy to follow along and understand! I’d like to see a video of how you spicy it up even more with more dynamics, like slides, bends, thrills, pull-ons, slap, etc. I’m not sure how to do them properly , when and where ! Thanks again and keep up the good works! 🙏🏻🎸👍🏼

OMG Travis, that was a great lesson! Didn't know you could see my wall from there, lol!! There are some great bass players online, then there are others, who I think are just showing off their impeccable skills, because they run through what they're supposed to teach you, and hey, truth be told it's hard to learn at maximum speed!! So I thank you for taking your foot off the gas, and with your help, I can break down some of these walls brick by brick, thank you sir! Your the real teacher!! 👍🏽

I think you mean synchronised with the kick, rather than syncopated.
@CMSpida
Ай бұрын
I’ve always used syncopated in this sense too. You’re displacing the accents dictated by the kick drum therefore syncopation rather than just pulsing through it

Great vid for level one, is so important.. There are bassists that can play fast technical things but you are teaching Feel IMO, which is most important. I'd rather hear a bassist play even half of what you are playing w your feel than a bassist that is too busy but not in the pocket. I dig the muting Carol Kaye.ITs the little things you are teaching here that are most important. You are a gifted teacher and player.
