Wall sweeps create various different issues working and adjusting walls later. I have created a whole series of Wall protection families as line based families where you set your profiles for each item (handrail, sheet protection, bumper guard, base etc) and then draw them where you need and lock to the walls. Allows for better output in renderings, more control via worksets, phasing etc.

I agree. Wall sweeps and reveals are very restrictive and annoying (as displayed here). I, too, would preffer line based or hosted families.

Çreate a wall with sweep profile at base have only 1structural layer at 1 mm thick and set height to match profile. You have a wall that can be scheduled and will mitre at corners and cope internally. I use this for adding base mould. You can use any opening or split tool.

This works as well... Of course, you have to manage the two walls independently when changes are made... But, it is a solution!!

What you think about use railing as wall sweeps and cornice? I use it, and works fine for scheduling, tagging, graphics

Railings could work, and slab edges, too!

Try adding a sweep, say for a precast window sill, on a wall that has a series of window openings. You only want the sweep at the window openings. But Revit will place the sweep across the wall length with multiple control points at the window openings. It is a nightmare to edit the length of the sweep. Any workaround this issue that you can demonstrate? Thanks!

Thanks for watching … for that example the sweep would be more like a window sill and built into the window family.

If you add a sweep to a long, multi-room wall that has openings in it (doors, windows, etc) the sweep breaks out those openings... how do you drag the end into just one room? Revit always says I can't do this because the openings each have their own end grips. If I try to move all of the grips to the same point then never resolve, rather there's just a half dozen grips all piled on top of each other? If I place the sweep above all of the openings I can drag the end to where I need it - but when I lower it (like for a back splash) it re-extends all the way back across the wall to the original point with all of the unworkable openings in it? There's got to be a better way to do this?

Is it possible to model SWEEPS or REVEALS that are not either horizontal or perpendicular to the floor level ? For instance a sweep that follows a ramp slope ?

Yes, but you'd have to use an in-place component... for the voids at least...

Can you align (AL) the edges of the sweep with wall faces instead of using the grab handles and dragging?

Cool thanks! How about a sweep in a column?

Simply add a thin finish wall layer on top of the column

Just mirror the sweep from the centre of the wall to create another one on the other side of the wall.

REVIT. 30+ yrs of giving you1000 ways that you cannot do something. Good GAWD, why make something that should be so simple into such a monster?
