I wouldn't call it acting, so much as switching gears. I've noticed that I'll occasionally drift off into another though because I know my subconscious is still paying attention. The subconscious is our primary information gathering process as an INFJ (intuition), so it makes sense that you consciously focus on something else yet still have a good reply. It could also be that you heard enough to predict the underlying point in the conversation and you switch your conscious focus somewhere else while politely waiting for them to finish. I could also be entirely wrong, but this is just my personal INFJ experience.

1 Figurative Language Yeaaah I've come to realise that I most likely have issues communicating ideas to others. When you encounter the same issue with people time & time again, the real problem is probably with you. So I make weird comparisons & try to simplify what I'm trying to get across. 2 Uncanny Listening Skills Yes. This is my skill. That one thing I know 110% I can do well & has been a common compliment throughout my life. Better in person than online, although I have made a few friends online because of it. Remembering every minor detail however....no. I'll remember some things. But unless I'm making notes a lot will be gone. Its a very in the moment thing. 3 The INFJ Stare Legitimately thought it was an autism thing until I heard about this. I've had comments & caught myself a few times due to my videos. 4 Always Wanting To Help To a fault sometimes. My day has been taken from me multiple times due to me distaste of saying no when I know I can help. I think a lot of it comes from guilt due to the help I have received in life. 5 Seemingly Cold Demeanour lol yeah if you caught me in public I'd either look angry or depressed. Its like when not in a conversation with a person I'm in my head. When someone gets my attention I snap from one to the other. 6 A Strong Sense Of Independence To the point I'm an absolute pain in the ass yes. I go with what my heart & head tell me is right & damn what anyone else thinks. Sure I'll listen. But if my head & heart disagree you ain't convincing me. 7 They Try Not To Stand Out Do not want to be the centre of attention at all. The irony is my clothing style is so basic & simple that I actually feel like I stand out where I live. But I point to number 6. A lot of INFJ traits are kind of contradictory. 8 Depth & Intensity I legit worry that I come across as insane or unhinged. & when I start I find it hard to shut up.
@clepay59

This is very accurate regarding the INFJ personality. I am able to read between the lines, outside the lines, behind the lines, in front of the lines, above the lines, below the lines, in and through the lines, all around the lines and even at an angle. So all I need do is listen for a moment and I generally get the gist of a conversation. It's so uncanny sometimes that it scares even me , so I try to stay away from people as much as I possibly can. Most times I scare them away any way because they most times can't take the truth and/or my blunt frankness.

Number 2 for me doesn't happen that often, because of number 3. I'm listening to someone and understanding everything, then my mind starts to work on a huge number of scenarios and a deep evaluation of each one of them, forgetting that I'm in the middle of a conversation, staring at the void and actually sometimes not even hearing what the person is saying anymore.

I felt betrayed because I felt it was beyond my writing abilities. As it turned out, the people were so accepting of what I wrote and the speaker said “I am supposed to follow that? That is not fair” I went on to become a writer from there. But, at the time it was six sleepless weeks until we put it on. I do do stare! There are times when people assume I am not onboard with something when I might be. I do stumble over my words, and prefer texting to talking but have become a writer.

I usually have a sense, even with people I meet only online, of who might be an infj like me. I am retired now, but when I was working, I was very serious about my job and about doing it well and I was told more than once that I was difficult to approach or even "scary." Given that I am always the shortest person in the room, this is pretty funny to me but the speeches that the bigwigs gave at my retirement party certainly made it clear that they saw me as something of a tyrant. I had a boss toward the end of my career tell me that I cared too much. And I told him that I never knew that caring about how you did your job was a bad thing. But he was right, I did care too much and that is part of what made me so intimidating. I rarely get attention from people in public like if I'm grocery shopping or whatever and they seem sort of surprised when I speak to them. The part in this video about basically INFJs walking their own path is so incredibly true for me! I am originally from a small town in Ohio and getting married and having babies was a big deal and people started doing it at the end of high school or very soon after. I have never been married and never had children and I've had a really happy life but to most people it seems pitiful. I find it pitiful that people are unable to imagine or understand people who led a life different from them who made different choices than they did.

The INFJ stare. As a male, I found I had to be careful talking with a woman. I tend to put all my concentration into a conversation, listening to, looking at the face and any body language. It can make a woman very uncomfortable. I have learned to look away from a woman who does not know me very well when having a one-on-one conversation. If we do engage and attend to a person's chat we pretty much already know if they really got something to say. It's funny but I really never get approached unless its worth while. Our third eyes peripheral can usually spot a chatty mate from far off. If you want to talk about the weather with me I'm known to bring up alot More than the temperature lol

Yes, we are amazing listeners because we care about others feelings. But with me, if I'm talking to someone and their eyes wonder away or they become distracted. I stop speaking immediately. It's so disrespectful to me.

As an INFJ, I am a chameleon. Ask 20 different ppl who I am, and they will all describe someone different. I always draw my thoughts out in pictures. Works for me. That is if you can catch me outside. I am a reclusive enigma.

People see me I look vary stoic and cold. If I open up with a person. Its like I'm a completely different person. I don't know alot of times when it will happen. It has to be in a setting where it's me and them. I have shocked people in the past. The deep conversation we will have. I also make a extreme effort to to never stare at people. I really want too sometimes. I have become vary sneaky at it. I don't want them to catch me.

damn talk about feeling exposed ::laughing:: all i can say is i resemble these remarks. its one of the reasons why people either like or hate infjs. at least in my case. when they need me they like me for the very same traits that they can also hate. we see too much and its disconcerting

Just recently I came to know that I am an INFJ-T personality. It shocks me actually but most of the time I am misunderstood by the way I look and behave most especially in the public. Now this video shares a lot of ideas that made me realized how am I. Thanks for sharing. Just wanna ask if this personality is good or not? Thanks and be safe always

Yes! Thank you! This comment right here☝️ I'm 29 and using only young and attractive people have always annoyed me (feels like subtle manipulation to attract young people), especially seeing as the INFJ mbti character is an older gentlemen. It doesn't matter what someone looks like, because at the end of the day, it's our minds and hearts that impact the world. Life's too short to give a dang about any of that other stuff. ♥️

I meet one a regular basis..seem him in the mirror everyday. With some of the traits you really have to learn to live with. When concentrated my face changes..doing things on my own. People say…are you angry. I try to give them a smile…nope..I am this way when concentrated. Sorry that won’t change. I have been hearing that ever since I can remember.

Although apparently I AM an INFJ, the part that has me confused and concerned is how I relate to a god few things that INFJs do, but only like 40% of those things. This leads me to think about potential hybrid MB personalities and then I just think and think about it, which is even worse for determining if I am an INFJ because boom, there’s another thing INFJs do… man….

Gender is just a form of expression, you can express what you want until it imposes on others. This should rarely be a problem but some people either hate on it or with some semblance of intelligence accept it and move on (with a little room for inquiry or curiosity).

I think you’re born an infj , as a child I was very aware of the fact that I was different, more matured, more interested in understanding the counter parts of things, more organised, and just really invested in the future and possibilities. I only discovered what I am until recently, the emotions I felt was often very painful and will leave you numb…some would argue depression…but I think it’s because of getting too emotionally involved with other’s problems as its your nature to help others and make them feel happy , and seeing others unhappy hurts you, even if you don’t know them but that’s just your intuition. I don’t think you can become an infj over night, your mind is just so differently wired. You have experienced things and live very differently all your life.

I put all my thoughts on paper. I've written a book over the last month if you put it all together and have somebody edit it of course it wouldn't make much sense to anybody but me but I have written enough crap to fill a 500 page book. When I go back and look at it most of it I end up throwing away but some of it I save....not much but some...
