Thank you! The little PB is a very interesting and qwerky little engine, quite different to most things and very sought after at the moment. I did put a strip of rubber on the stop button just to be sure, but you shouldn't get an electric shock from it if the magneto is insulated in the rught ways, you must have touched the plug terminal when shutting down that suffolk. I have had loads of HT shocks from running engines, it may be 40,000+ volts but it's very unlikley to do you any harm!

Well I for one would never have been able to start that in a million years had you not shown me first.Im liking the float and choke area, nice. Your magneto looks very similar to whats on my DK, I was wondering as you shut it off using the earth strap, does yours have a piece of insulating tape or rubber on the tip of it? - reason I ask is, years ago I had a serious electric shock when shutting down a Suffolk Colt Petrol mower in the same way, so I shy away now, once bitten as they say. Nice Vid

Thank you, I don't own this engine any more but I do have a "basket case" 6PB with the earlier Villiers magneto to restore, it will be a bit of a challenge but hopefuly I will start on it this winter.

Good video, I've just acquired an 8PB which works in pretty much the same way and had that exciting first start-up today. Needs a bit of work but it's a very good engine and I'm sure it'll provide many hours of fun and tinkering.

As a kid i used to buy these engines on auction ,repair and sell. It started my diesel mac and machinist career and i still do repairs on them.

Thanks, can't remember where it came from as it was a few years ago. Might be worth contacting Ray Hooley who I'm sure will be able to provide a copy.
