Just to add to it. I use my iPhone XR for all my filming when I’m doing intros Outros sitting in the tackle room people ask me all the time and they can’t believe that is my iPhone I’m doing it with. If you do use the iPhone go into your settings go to your camera and make sure you change the settings of the camera to the 4K and I believe it’s 30 premium 30 frames per Second. Up until recently the editor I used was iMovie on my iPhone. It’s super simple to learn the way I put music on my videos when I use iMovie is simple I screen record a KZitem video of the music I want and then when I edit it in I just pick audio only for that clip. The only reason I don’t use it that much anymore is it takes up too much space trying to get the clips from the GoPro plus I want to start expanding

Good video. I managed to start my channel a few weeks ago. Been working towards it for a year, but I didn't record enough videos ahead of time lol. I am about 2 weeks ahead. I hope to build up about 5 weeks ahead, but you have to catch fish to do it LOL. I enjoy your channel, keep up the good work. 2 things I would add: 1. Whatever camera angles you use, make sure the viewers can see you and what is going on well. I hate views from the floor of the boat etc. I am not there yet, but in about 3 videos I will have 3 angles, two from the front, and one to the back for my co angler. I personally don't like a chesty cam because I don't like staring at someones hands for 20 minutes lol. 2. Editing is where the magic is. A well edited video with 5 fish will outperform a video where you just play music and catch 50 fish. Bring in some B roll, show what you are doing, and try to involve the viewer in the catches. (I need to work on this some myself) I try to play music as I don't like a video with no music, but I edit the audio down when catching fish so you can hear what happens in the moment. Anyways, that's my 2 cents!

I'm just glad so many channels out there are trying to use the best phone made or best of whatever they can afford because I just feel like if you're going to put videos up make sure they aren't blurry or just low quality, I can't stand that! I've been accused of being a troll because I have asked channels to fix issues with audio or low quality footage and it's not that I'm rude, I was a camera operator for the sportsman's network and outdoor channel for about three year's and I've filmed in Mexico continuously for a series at one time for over thirty days catching big bass and filming with big camera's, I know what quality is and after filming with the ol' wild Bill Skinner you get it right or you go home and when it's early 2000's and your making 250 a day plus room and board and flights with paid airport parking you make it perfect 👍. Btw good job! Your efforts are nice , imo.

Well you have to remember people are starting on low or no budgets with no big camera or audio or production budget at all. It's one guy doing what a team done with you. I'm the talent, I'm the camera guy, I'm the editor, etc. Sometimes it's just bad and you have to get content out. Oh while you work a full time job. So take in the total there is no comparison to what you did. Hell to have 1 other person would be heaven for me. That's just the tip of it all.

Good information. I started mine a year ago and it has been a tough road! Picked up speed up to 1K but after that it is like pulling teeth to get to 2K. The big thing that people have to remember is that subscribers only give you an idea of who is watching, what you are looking for is the 80% of people that do not subscribe as that 100% (the two combined) are what gives you the watch hours. On the name, I could not think of anything either so I googled fishing terms. The very first one was Asleep At The Reel. I researched it and it was free so boom. Yolo stick with 128 card at 2.7K on the Hero 7 Black gives me 4.5 hours of continual footage. Man I have been behind the camera for 35 years now being in front is terrible. Ha ha. Good information brother!

I definitely think you should do more videos about your journey from beginning to where you are now...creek fishing adventures has some good videos like that talking about his journey and broke it down how much money he made through the process....very interesting! I think people would be very intrigued if you do that as your channel has grown very well, congratulations on that!!

BG, I believe when I started watching fishing videos, you were the 1st person I subscribed to. And I dont like subscribing to a lot of channels. Why did i subscribe u you ask? 1st, It was your non pressure sales pitch, Lol. "Like it if u like it". And I thought that was cool! Not like everyone else begging me to hit the subscribe button. I actually thought about it, ya i like what this guys showing me, no pressure, I like it , so i finally subscribed. *Thats why I keep telling u to make that shirt, "Like it if you like it". And ill buy one! Save me an XL pls. The 2nd reason i subscribed is that you answer questions. That right there keeps me coming back and I have loyalty to your channel. I appreciate it very much when u respond back cause I want to learn things I dont know. This new topic i look forward to., maybe when I retire in a couple of years, Ill start a channel too. Keep up the good work.

Are use the GoPro hero four. My wife was buying it for me I told her to find a refurbished one just in case I couldn’t figure it out or just didn’t like it. I think she paid right around $100 for it and I’ve had it for about a year and a half now and it works perfect. The reason I went with the hero for the hero seven had just come out, but I always heard the hero four was the best one to use as far as trying to use an external microphone with

Right now I just use youtube for watching everyone else but I am planning on starting my channel soon. I have my real name on here right now but am thinking on changing it to BigCountryOutdoors. What do you think? I want to do fishing videos mainly but will probably add my hunts and other outdoor related things as well. Thanks for your help and your videos.

My iPhone 11 Pro has been magic for me. It made filming my videos extremely simple and editing a breeze. I’d recommend for anyone using a smartphone to also get a lavalier mic and battery packs! My iPhone needed one of those double lightning cable dongles to plug my mic and charger in if your battery is running low. Its my action cam as well. This is great advice too thanks a lot bassgeek! Would it be possible to get your feedback on my videos?
