I'm 14 as well, similar story except wasn't bullied. It was mostly me being self conscious of how I look. Scrawny white boy with a baby face with a height of 5'8. I'm not too skinny but still very light. I only weigh about 120 pounds. Back when I was around 6-7.5 I did competitive gymnastics and competed through different big cities (mainly L.A since it was the closest "big city") Anyway, I say this because I did several body workouts back then and try to do some of them now at home. One thing that helps is me remembering my 6 yo self being able to be in a gym 3 hours a day 3 days a week. I have the right mindset and am not worried about trying to stay consistent. I am mainly worried about the social part of it. I'm very shy and introverted, always have been. I just it's awkward working out in front of everyone. Which is very odd since like I said I did competitive gymnastics competitions in L.A in front of thousands of ppl. Guess the self esteem got to me. I'm going to try and get into the gym this upcoming summer. I just can't keep thinking about how dumb I will look by lifting a small amount of weight. If anyone has any tips on what to do at home to get ready for going to the gym Please reply. I wanna get some strength on me before starting this summer.

One mistake most gym goers make is sleeping on the power of light/moderate weights and high volume. Everybody and their grandmother online says as a natural you need to lift heavy weights to grow. You do not. So do not be afraid to lift the baby dumbbells. I'm a large muscular guy, over 100kg and I love the baby dumbbells. Do 20+ reps on everything, slow methodical movement, low rest time, muscles explode and your joints never get sore. Lift heavy weights will grow strength but it's slower to grow muscle size and you will eventually get sore joints/tendons. How do I know this? I lifted heavy weights for my first 5 years of lifting, upper body made decent gains but lower body didn't. Plus I have/had scoliosis, after 5 years it became to painful to lift heavy on leg day. So I started doing cardio squat routines twice a week. Goblet squats 10 sets, 15 reps, strict 60 second rest break. My legs exploded in size, In 6 months my legs grew more than the previous 5 years of heavy lifting. The first time I heard my mate say "holy s*** your legs are massive", since they grew so quick. Saw that happen, changed up all my routines to be light to moderate weight, high volume, low rest and everything exploded in size. I was already quite muscular beforehand with large shirts being tight, since then I'm up to XXL. I got my friends on this routine, and they also saw significant faster muscle growth compared to their usual heavy 10-12 rep routines. Muscles grow faster, you build endurance, you grow neural pathways much quicker (mind to muscle connection), and since your CNS isn't hit as hard you recover quicker. You will get up higher in weight eventually, and it will be more impressive since you'll be doing 15-20+ reps on that weight. I've been training seriously since 2009, I've done every different program and training routine you can find. Nothing matches the effectiveness of high volume, low rest, moderate weights.

I lifted non-stop 2hrs/day x 6 days/week for 6 months and put on 15kg. I wasn't even taking whey, just 6 protein-rich meals per day. I was probably roughly around 12-14% bodyfat. This is so perfect timing for me. I started hit the gym a year ago. I still remember my first day and let me tell you, it was terrible. At first I was so overwhelmed by all the equipment that I didn't know how to use. Moreover all the people there were humongous and I thought that everyone thinks I am a punny little kid coming to the gym. After the first gym day I didn't go gym for around 1 month after that. But I mustered up my courage to go to the gym again after a breakup. Till then I have been hitting the gym at least twice a week and let me tell you, it feels fking to be able to chase your purpose instead of stupid ways of instant gratification where feel so sluggish and demotivated all the time. It might seem overwhelming at first but trust the process and push on. If you want a tip I would say go with your best friends that help to motivate you. When I started out, I only did cardio, and I did lose a great amount of weight, but I realized that I wanted more than just lose fat. I wanted to become stronger. The first day I walked into the "other" room, I had a few people come up to me while i was using one of the machines and asked if it was okay to give some advice and show me how to do the exercises correctly so I wouldn't hurt myself. 99% of the people who are working out at the gym are some of the nicest people who do not judge! Honestly, everyone are there for the same reasons as you - to bettering themselves. And wanted to add that yeah, sometimes someone will look at you, but there can be so many different reasons why. If I'm unsure of how to use a machine, sometimes I'll wait for someone else to use it. I had been working out for over a year, and this dude had been consistent, and you could really see he had improved our eyes meet and gave him an acknowledging nod and moved on with my routine. The gym is a place for improving yourself, physical and mental.

But 6 years later and I'm finally consistent with it - went semi-regularly in the interim, and took a long break to do a marathon, but I feel so much better now that I'm using it properly. My day doesn't really start until I've been to the gym (or cycled to work, if I need to get in early), it's the best addiction I've ever had and I love every minute of it. It hasn't always been easy, bulking on a vegan diet is not comfortable, but I wouldn't change anything about my journey so far.

One of my friends wanted to start working out and I was looking for a video or website that explains it all. As soon as I saw Noel's made a video on this, I knew right away that this was the perfect one to share.

I have a very strong lower body because I bike a lot and I used to do endurance sports like cross, country, and track. But I have never done anything to make my upper body stronger. And I’ve been trying to get out of my house to go to the gym for a while. I just didn’t know where to start. Thank you so much for this!

Noel, your ability to motivate people is unparalleled. So many paychecks have gone by, where I told myself “I’ll get the membership this time”, and it just never happened. Finally, thanks to you, I got paid, and said “today is the day”. I got my membership, and had my first day in the gym today. It was so invigorating. Learning what I’m capable of, and seeing all the inspiration around me. Telling myself “that, is what I can become”. Thank you Noel. Truly

Best advice I can give is well, just like Noel said everyone was new to the gym at some point, as long as you're respectful the big veins and weights should not scare you at all, a lot of them are some of the friendliest people you'll meet and when you start seeing each other maybe once or twice a week you can form a serious bond with them even if you're not jacked, laughter will make anyone like you

I’m a 14yr old girl, and I’ve been watching you for a long time. And I’m a more fat than skinny person, and I eat the same amount of food that a regular person eats, but I’ve always been overweight, ever since I was born. And soon my dad will be getting me a gym membership. I’m on this video now so then I know what to do when I go to the local gym. I’m genuinely so excited to be going to the gym and hope I turn into my dream hot muscle mommy build I’ve always wanted. Thank you so much Noel for being my biggest inspiration to make me feel that not all gym’s are full of creeps, but we can have fun as well.

Honestly bro, i have been needing this, i tried going Jim with the boys after my partner broke up with me and it was good until we all Separated to go off To Uni, Since then the small progress i have made has gone, and i am scared to go in alone, I am trying to organise to go again with one of my bro's who lives a bit closer to me, but life got in the way for him so we postponed it, although now i am fully ready for it, no more anxiety, the moment i get my first two pay checks from work i am gonna get back into it, thank you my Friend.

One thing that really helped me was making sure that I had a buddy. It started when i had just moved and my brother helped. He was like "Come hangout with me at the home gym I have tomorrow". That turned into a teo and ahalf year journey that I'm still on.

Literally saw one of your ads in front of this video lol. KZitem randomly started showing me bodybuilding shorts, it's not something I've ever been interested so I'd skip most of them. But yours actually made me chuckle and you seem to really care about your viewers. I'm currently in the worst shape of my life physically and been pretty bad mentally too. Honestly hadn't even been thinking about working out but watching your videos has me contemplating a gym membership.

I do go to the gym but I've recently lost the motivation to go 5 times a week. My previous motivation was the promise I made to my dad before he died in 2020 when I was soon to turn 16 (now 18) was to stay healthy and have a good life but its just getting harder and is making me sit around again. Noel helps give new motivation ❤️❤️

You always give the best tips for those wanting to go to the gym. One reason why I am going back myself. I think my goals are reasonable, to jog for an hour, squat 400lbs as a max, bench 250lbs, and deadlift 300lbs. I know my starting point for squats is 300lbs for 2 reps which shocked me as I last did it at 225 on a smith machine at 15 years old, now 25. And jogging I can do that for 20 minutes without a rest. Bench I wouldn't have a clue where I stand yet, last time I did it was 10 years ago and was 165lbs. Deadlift I never done this before so I haven't a clue and just slapped a random weight as a goal that I think is possible. Cause of the positivity you show in every clip is why I am going back to the gym, thank you for the content you provide.
