1. Content is key - Your beats - Constancy is more important than perfection - Branding - Thumbnails - Clear description - Beatstars or Manual selling - Mixing and mastering (phone, laptop, headphones) and compare - Producer tags 2. Your audience (Marketing) - Who is your audience? - Defining your target audience is one of the most important things that you can do. - Who is your customer? -you just need to spend a day looking into the demographics section and learning. - 1/2 genres - Your audience wants what they expect from you - If you want to build trust you need content that people will actually watch. 👀 You will have to experiment with this to see what works. - Price range - Knowing your customer is so so important. Who they are, what they like, HOW they purchase. - Create similar beats as in arrangement, sound selection, but still be original 3. KZitem targeting - Analytics - Keywords targeting with tube buddy - General setup for your video 4. Give free value - Free download for non profit with 1 tag - Send potential customers a free beat via email (Drive Folder) - If you give value in your content, if people look to you as an authority in an area they will trust you when looking to buy also. 5. Promotion - Focus on 2 channels (YT and IG) - Comment on other channels the valid way - Promote on instagram (do not spam) - Reddit - Collaborations - Focus on 2/3 artist in your niche 6. Financials - Invest 180usd in beatstars - Try to sell 1 basic lease a month of 20usd - Paypal and stripe account

This is great and super useful. I have to mention one thing. I started in the web design/dev/marketing field in the late 90s. I worked for huge companies over the years and had a long, full career. I've left software and am now making music full time. I find it disheartening that the main job of beatmakers and musicians in 2021 is marketing. I left that field so I didn't have to look at analytics all day and worry about APIs, etc., etc., etc. The future is here. And it's lame af.

@cassidymalone
2 жыл бұрын
Like royalties on the back end after release? If so, I would register with ASCAP or BMI so that you retain publishing rights (or at least 50% since the artist would be the other half). You may have to get an LLC, but don't quote me on that. I just remember obtaining a license when I registered and released my album. I have sold instrumentals to artists for a fee, then also received compensation from ASCAP when the finished song was released.
