haha you can tell she watches at least some of this content and did her research on how to approach a dog like hers. Always refreshing to see someone who was going after the wisdom of others first and asking for help when they know the limits of their ability. no arrogance, no ego, just a desire to learn and help her dog. 10/10 owner.

Agree! This owner is excellent and this is the type of owner a troubled dog needs. She’s demanding respect which is what an unruly dog will ultimately gain progress with. If we can redirect diplomacy and consequences with respect then the need for consequences lessen, in my experience with my dominant rescue. Great job

You can’t be scared/nervous, when you are you risk sending that energy to the dog & making a situation worse, even if you are scared/nervous in a situation with a giant, somewhat aggressive/fearful dog, it’s best to stay cool, calm & collected or atleast pretend to be if you arent, you’ll notice that by pretending it helps feed the dog calm energy which starts to change their behavior making your confidence rise & before you know it you’ll actually be calm in that “scary” situation & you won’t be just pretending.

I was thinking the same thing. I own a Belgian malinois, German Shepherd American Pitbull Terrier mix the dog in my picture and two other dogs right now. I've had four at most and she acts exactly as I do with my dogs. You have to be the leader, the Alpha to maintain order especially in a pack dynamic

@@baldurivar huh? I think you need to stop owning dogs if you disagree on how to be a leader for your dogs. They need leadership, they want direction and guidance. This is very natural. You like any strong, dominant breed such as a working line German Shepherd, X Malinois, Knpv x herder, or certain Mastiff breeds which I suspect you favor, you will learn very quickly that you will need to be the alpha

I'm such an advocate of dog owners becoming educated on their dogs and how to properly train them so that the dogs can have a great life and the owners can too. They are much more responsibility than most dog owners realize and because they don't take that seriously enough, the dog, the owners, guests and other animals have to suffer. That's why I'm so glad I found this channel. I highly recommend that anyone reading this, share his videos with other dog owners that you know or even people considering getting a dog and take the time to choose a quality video that can be specific to the person and whatever dog situation they could benefit from. This channel has tons of videos to pick from.

That GSD at the beginning acts like my giant dog when he's on the lead and sees another dog. After watching many of Joel's videos he's calmed down a lot, some days we look almost normal. Some days we don't react. Other days we take 2 steps back and the years go by. My big old dog is getting grey and too tired to fight I think. Joel's videos work, it's just that people think they are training the dog, but it's the people that are the ones being trained. Great work as usual 💖

Can’t thank you enough for your videos this one is the most spot on situation my dog is in, she was always afraid of other dogs acted like the lowest in the pact, ran away, and hid never tried to bite, was perfect in my eyes for a German shepherd, then she was attacked and turned really aggressive like this dog, goes exactly crazy like this seeing other dogs, imma definitely try this, I tend to correct when she is expressing her emotions because I’m also traumatized from her getting attacked she actually fought back really bad, I tend to forget she does listen to me when I tell her to stop but I feel like I should let her emotions play out a bit more because she’s always very anxious shaking, slobbering yawning and staring too hard, but she’s made friends with another German shepherd, but because he was really unbothered by her dominant bully behavior he helped her a lot socially

I liked the explanation when you corrected the pushy dog that was overstepping the German Shepard’s boundaries. My Cattle Dog will warn and then nuke a dog that acts like that. Small dog owners are the worst especially. It’s almost as if when you have any large powerful dog breed, your dog can’t show any emotion like any other dog, cannot have their breaking point, can’t react and has to have saintly behaviour at all times....even when the small dog starts it, the bigger, scarier, badder looking dog gets blamed
