There are lots of green peas available during winter at much cheaper rate. We can store them easily. You will get fresh green peas whenever you want throughout the year. Store bought green peas are much costly and also they are processed and contain many preservatives. Let’s see how to store green peas.
Ingredients:
• Fresh green peas
• 4 cups Hot boiling water
• 1/2 tsp Salt
• 1 tsp Sugar
• Ice cold water
Method:
• Take water into a pot. Bring it to boil. Add salt and sugar it. Mix
well.
• When water begins to boil, add fresh green peas in it.
• Boil peas on high heat for exactly 3 minutes.
• After 3 minutes, turn off the gas.
• Take boiled peas into a strainer and drain excess water.
• In another bowl, take cold water. Add ice cubes to make it chilled.
• Transfer boiled and drained peas into ice cold water.
• Let them be in the water for about 2-3 minutes until they cool
down completely.
• Take a dish and line it up with news paper. Spread clean cloth on
it.
• Again take peas from cold water into a strainer, drain excess
water and spread them on the cloth.
• Excess moisture present in the peas will be absorbed by the news
paper. No need to completely dry the peas.
• Transfer the peas into pack seal bags.
• You also can use zip lock bags instead if these bags.
• Seal the bags and store them into deep freeze only.
• Whenever you want to use frozen peas, just take them out of
freeze half an hour before and use them.
