Glad to see this series back, and I'm intrigued by Legacy's Allure. Love the idea of a lightweight, chess-like wargame.

I'm glad to bring the series back! It's honestly amazing what positive feedback this episode got. If you are interested in Legacy's Allure, please follow the discord link and let them know I sent you. LA is an indie game and I'm all about supporting small project. It really helps out the channel and will help me get more sponsors in the future. The more sponsors I get, the more of these videos I can make.

Speed, you need to have a long form podcast. Have a guest from your games community or legacy allure and talk. You have a lot of knowledge I'd like to see explored more

Great to see someone talking bout LOR. i tend to see it as the next big marker/changer in card games history. Some issues and thoughts: 0:53 what are they? 1:13 mtg uses turn counter mana system now?? 1:22 adds a new card type, yes but is that a barrier to entrance or hard to understand? the first thing taught to new mtg players is you need lands in play to pay the cost of the other cards. that is not hard to understand. 2:00 like most things about mtg it can get very complex, but at the start it really isnt. 1:33 depth? yes, but what does that word mean? in the case of mtg people often see lands and the varience they bring as a downside of the game. But what i feel critics often lack is any semblance of the richness they bring to deckbuilding. say what you want about mtg but to the extent of my experience it´s deckbuilding depth is unmatched. other find worth noting is that it is easy to critic the mere existance of the land system but, again connecting to the deckbuilding depth, the way the game uses lands has changed and evolved through the years. current standard is a good example of what i speak. the point is a fair analisys would mention both the good and bad sides of things. Lor mana system is not directely derived from mtg but rather Hearthstone and other digital card games. it copies it´s guaranteed one more mana every turn idea. it also reduces mana to a single type resource, same as hearthstone and very distinct from mtg where there are 5 types of mana with a meaning behind them. the mana stockpiling is LOR innovation of the system hearthstone popularized and it is great as it adds some players agency to an automated system. 2:10 not exactely true, there are rules to follow and what is discussed here does not fall on the camp of turn structure. 2:24 that is called priority in mtg 2:33 that is not the only diference. it is a BIG difference since turns work very differently in both games.the way Lor does turns is another great innovation. also to be fair there are only 2 regular "spell speeds" in mtg while LOR has 3. More content on LOR would be welcome.

I don't know why so many game designer seem to think that complicated = better. I have been forced to play many board games with my friends that took an hour just to set up and explain the rules.

I would compare warhammers first 3 turns of, get close enough to fight, as the same meta as Legacys draft system. I really enjoy the time sped up in legacy due to this
