Thank you so much for your amazing video, the exercises are very helpful. I have a question though:I used to play guitar but after couple of years, I'm no longer able to play because the moment I hold the guitar and start playing I experience very bad spasm and discomfort in group of muscles starting from my arm up to to my neck and around hyoid bone mainly on my left side, the side I hold the neck. The spasm is so strong that it pressures my wind pipe and I feel something sharp is pressing the back of my throat. Some people say it is because of weak muscles. Are there any other reasons and also exercises you can suggest?! I really like to continue playing guitar, but I can't. Thanks!

I was in a car accident 23 years ago and took 83 mph of impact to my left side which has now spread throughout my body and I live in chronic pain on a daily basis every year I do cervical media branch blocks in my neck and I have been doing them every year for the last eight or nine years well for three years God has held me together and I didn’t need to do a procedure but my body has changed drastically for the worse in that time but almost 3 months ago I did the cervical media branch blocks again and usually I have no problems with doing the procedure but this time it’s been three months and my neck is very weak and my head is very heavy and I get very confused at tines and got cloud head and can’t think straight and very off balance at times its so bad that I am struggling to get back to life as much as I can with the conditions I live with on a daily basis that’s on repairable. It’s only by the grace of God that I get up and live every day that I’m no longer living I’m just existing to be here for my children and do the best that I can and push myself to take care of them. I went to my follow up appointment two weeks ago to only see the nurse practitioner and not my doctor which is neuroscience pain management I have been seeing him for like 12 years but she proceeds to tell me is absolutely nothing to do with the procedure she said I need to go to physical therapy and also do a new MRI to see if anything has changed surgically with my neck. I will soon be emailing my doctor to address the situation in the meantime…Any Advice or Suggestions?

Thank you so much for this video. How do I intensify these exercises if I want to get really built neck muscles? Background would be that genetically I don't have a lot of neck muscles and need to work that much harder to build it up. Not saying I want to go all the way to a jacked guy kind of muscles but I really want to strengthen it to a point where I don't have to worry about my neck daily. Maybe include an exercise or two ever month or so.

Does anyone know why my head "shudders" when I'm on the down portion of the cervical flexion exercise? It's like my neck is struggling to support the weight of my head. I'm doing these exercises because of chronic discomfort/tension in the left side of my scalp. It's a hard condition to explain to Dr's and the diagnosis was a tension headache, which has lead me to explore many types of remedies and to get a variety of head/cervical scans. Some have indicated some mild scolios and my neck showed insufficient curvature (curve was about 14°). Anyways, I'm thinking maybe these exercises will strengthen my neck and could alleviate some of this constant pain 🤞 it's debilitating, fatiguing and some days, I can't work 😔

I had a chiropractic adjustment for my neck about a month ago and I’ve never had neck pain, In fact the reason why I went to this chiropractor was because of shoulder pain, she said my neck curvature was off so I let her adjust it, first few times I felt great but the 4th adjustment caused neck pain, stiffness, headaches, dizziness and my neck jerking by itself. I’ve just gone for an x ray about 2 days ago but I really want to get back to normal . Are these exercises suitable for my situation?

Sit down and try to separate head movement from neck. We tend to move our neck too much. Its like lower back which should be stable. As you see from the video lifting you head up activates abdominals while laying on your back. Body is fixing sternum and rib cage so muscles can pull your head to it. On your belly you need to also use big back muscles and glutes if lift head. And on your side you need to also pull with obliques. If your spine is not stable then its harder to lift your head.

It took me almost 3 years to realize how bad of a head injury I had after my life-saving surgery, good thing they cut me in half to make me lay straight, bad news is they didn't go over anything that happened to me, recommend any options, offer any options for healing, etc. Anyways I realized myself, that I needed to sleep without a pillow to push my jaw back into place...it really does help, even though it's really difficult to go from a regular sidesleeper to a back/flat sleeper...especially since I slept half my life on old mattresses, floors, or couches...

Does the size of exercise ball matter much? I’m considering buying one & thought small would be nice for storage in my home, but will a particular size be better for performing the exercises?

Thanks ... as for wing angel my knuckles hit and stay on wall , do I keep elbows flat onto wall also or do they pop out a tiny bit? And do back straps worn around home help with the posture issue? 🤗

If I already do quite a bit of back, rear dealt, trap training with typical lifting sessions, is it safe to combine this routine a few times a week when I have time, Considering these are unweighted. Granted, I mean at a separate time of day like night.

Will these exercises be harmful if I have a displaced upper disc in my neck? Thanks

This is quite possibly the solution to a problem I've had for about the last 2 years. I had a bad fall and injured my hips and lower back, after that I essentially lost all my back and neck strength and for the last 8-12 months I've been having serious headaches that I've never had before. I thought they were migraines, but the pain was in my lower neck area and massaging that area would alleviate the pain for at least a little bit. My neck was cracking like mad whenever I tilted from side to side and felt like it was getting caught on something during the movement. After just doing one full workout of these exercises my neck muscles actually feel like they are there again and the cracking is gone (at least for now anyway). It may take a while for the headaches to eventually go away completely, but seriously, thank you. This might be the first step in getting myself back to fighting fit and out of my spiraling semi-depression. Thank you so much!! - Now I just need to work on my shoulder issue!

@ballisticsollution hey, can you give update? I assume you did these for a month, what has the result been?

@@zeemanmemon5329 I'll admit I have been lax, and I do them only a couple times a week, sometimes only once a week, but the result has been significantly less headaches, and definitely less severe when I do get them. I think I've only had about two "bad" headaches in the last couple of weeks. When I had them bad previous to watching this, I normally had to lay down and constantly massage the lower back of my head and really heavily massage my shoulders - to the point of pinching and holding on the muscle for a long time, but since doing these exercises and stretches, I no longer really feel the need to just stop and rest and haven't had to really massage my neck or shoulders much at all - though sometimes I will because it just feels good :). Ultimately, it all comes down to sitting too much, sitting awkwardly in my computer chair and having terrible posture while sitting. The exercises have definitely helped, and I'm consciously working to improve my posture as well which will help too. Of course, mileage may vary for different people though. But overall, I'd say they have helped me dramatically. I thought it was all due to hurting my back, but turns out it was all in my neck the whole time. So yeah, I recommend them completely, especially if you are suffering from the type of issues I am/was.

Doc, should everyone be strengthening neck? Is it safe to assume neck pain, knots and stiffness link back to weak muscles? I ask because I've had different doctors tell me your neck is weak and other just give me the same "have good posture"
