I worked doing auto body as teen early 20s. You can find masking tape 1/4 in and smaller. Commonly found in magazines like Summit Jegs and jc whitney. Used for lining multiple paints apart keeping lines crisp smooth. Easier to bend around curves no matter how Sharp. Great video BTW 😁.

Superelevation makes curves look more natural. I just used cardboard to elevate them, I am impressed by the accuracy you are elevating them with. 👍

Close to a 1/32 of an inch.Thanks for sharing this.A good time saving way instead of using vinyl or wood shims.This method gives the train a more realistic look leaning in rounding the curve as the prototypes do.

Thanks Mike! I worked on it a lot over the holiday weekend. I was hoping to have the mainline track layed today but track laying was taking longer than expected. I am very picky when it comes to that. It has to look good and function perfectly. I believe in doing it right the first time. Talk to you soon. Deryk

You are welcome Brian. I guess I should have mentioned you in the video but I wasn't sure if you minded or not. I don't know about you, but I am a visual learner and thought this could help a little more. BTW, I made one of your trammels and it worked like a charm! Thanks again, Deryk

I don't mind if you mention me. It was great to see how you actually apply the masking tape. I have all of the cork down now and will be laying track soon so your how-to could not have come at a better time!! Thanks for posting it. Glad I could help you with the trammel - it's a neat little tool!!

8 thousands of an inch equates to 0.2mm. Is there any point, can you see the locos rise on the curve at all?
@DGModelworks

I apologize, I misspoke in the video. Each strip of tape is 8 thousandths. I believe I built the layers up to 6 or 8 strips of tape. You can build it up to as high as you prefer.

Thanks for reply, yes that makes more sense. I elevate mine to 1.5mm (7.5 strips of tape by your method). Good video otherwise. Best wishes.
